I was losing my anticipation for it after a while because screenshots weren't giving me the feeling of wanting it because the screenshots didn't reveal anything new! I am glad they added a new movie because my anticipation is back again!

im just saying, if theyre trying to keep my in suspense for this long waited release, itll take more than one new monster, a background boss and a vamped version os shiverpeaks.

I hope all my expectations are incorrect

A few thoughts:
Release Date: Not this week for sure.
Content: New quests, two large new areas
Monsters and such: It's part of the existing world, it's not an "expansion pack" or a new chapter. This is a major update, certainly larger than I saw in the games I played with those periodic or monthly updates. But it is not intended to replace a new chapter, which will be huge. I don't know how else to explain it other than to say there will be a lot to see and do and experience in the live update.
Focus: The development of this area does not in any way mean we're not attending to concerns in other areas of the game. There are many small teams working on the game, and putting in the Summer Update will not forestall PvP changes, development of Chapter 2, or finalization of our plans for the global tournament.

Hope this is helpful information, and thanks to those who had such positive comments to make.

Thanks Gaile. So it is confirmed there is not any new items? Doesn't bug me that much, I am mostly excited for these new quests

I do not know about items. I wouldn't be surprised to see them, but I cannot confirm because I've not asked. My list is not all-inclusive, for sure. I just didn't want people to draw conclusions from a 1.5 minute movie.

Ascended Content

As I mentioned in my last open letter, one of our top priorities has been adding content for ascended roleplaying characters. It's on the way. We are now entering a testing and polish phase on Sorrow's Furnace and other new ascended content. The additions will include new quests, new monsters, new items and new accelerated sources of XP and rare items.

That's from the state of the game letter... So as long as these are not empty promises, we will get new items.

Uh! I can't await that update

Somehow it's a bit cruel to releasing a another video, now I'm really hungry for that area.

But on another note: What happened to "Grenth's Footprint"?
Don't call me greedy, I'm just curious. I think since the news about the summer update on 16th May 2005 it hasn't been mentioned again.
