I think the biggest problem with europe is the PuG situation. I mean, what are the odds of finding 8 people that speak your same language and are on at the same time as you, and that have the ability to win HoH? Much worse than your odds of doing the same on american servers.

Don't blame us. Blame A.Net's shortsightedness. If they couldn't predict that one country would probably end up dominating, they should have at least predicted the nationalism created by the whole system.

Now this is a big problem, MANY of my friends in GW have changed too US server cause of the favor... If they are going too have this kinda stuff in Online Games (Like Favor) they should really realse the game at the same time all around the world, cause the problem is that america and korea have had it for soooo much longer the Europe and then they Europeans will come much more later too the Tombs.. And as we know, the higher rank u gott the better team u gett.
Hmm,. btw, is there ANY European with Tiger emote (rank9)?!

PS. I know there are more ppl in KOrea and America playing GW, but thats not the thing..!

Well, Europe had favour tonight after a 2 week drought. (It was cool watching the statues of Grenth & Balthazaar light up)

What was NOT cool, was reaching the Wailing Lord with a good tight team that took ages to accumulate, then having people disappear once again through lag issues and dropped connections!!

Oh well, have another go....

Same again. Lag was terrible! We got off on the wrong foot simply because people were aggroing everywhere. Why? They know the map, they know the team, but they can't predict when the European server will have another mindfart and end up holding the W key in frustration while the game stutters around them.

I'm not whingeing about the state of WaW. I do root for the underdog, but enough is enough. I've told my guild that I'm going stateside, and they're all coming with me. I'm fed up of paying the same money as USA and Korea and getting an inferior and unstable server to them.

...and unless the Anet PR have a VERY VERY VERY good reason why Europeans should stay on the European server and have an inferior gaming experience to the rest of the world, instead of some enigmatic hint that hasn't been expounded on, then I suggest that everyone else switches too and leave the European server for Beta testers or novelty value.

Why not make it so countries without favor can just go to the Int. Dists to go to FoW or UW? Maybe make it a little more expensive so people would prefer to do it when winning favor, but not too much so they wouldn't consider a fissure or underworld run without favor.

I switched to the US servers last week with a buddy of mine to test out our Monk/Necro tag team. I got bored so fast I don’t really care about running through the UW anymore.
As for playing with Americans? I thought they were ok people, but after the remark of Somhairle Isis I’m seriously starting to doubt that. You’re favorite word is probably n00b, isn’t it? Grow up and get a life.

Come and rescue Europe once again? What are you talking about? Is this some snide and largely innacurate reference to WWII or something? Doing things on our own? Well, if the US politicians stopped interfering in Global affairs, then maybe the state of the world today might be a little different, but I'm not here to discuss politics. We're not talking about which country is better than the other. We're talking about a GAME FFS!

If there is to be any sort of competition, then at least have it on even footing. From all accounts, US and Korean servers run smoothly, while Europe has to put up with lag problems. Something that makes the game a little bit more frustrating. It's like the americans and Koreans have a 9th skill "Universal freeze" where for up to 5 seconds, all foes are frozen or thrown into confusion at random intervals. If the shoe was on the other foot, and it was the US servers that hiccupped like this, I bet that these boards would be filled with players like yourself threatening to sue Anet.

Generally, the other 99% of the US realise that GW is just a game, and that WaW isn't about world domination or proving to the rest of the world that "Country X pwns Country Y". It IS about competition, but nationalism? You must be joking. I don't think the intention of GW was to bring out racial prejudice of the kind that you have clearly demonstrated.

US hating asses? I like the US. It's just overzealous patriots like yourself who give the US a bad name.

Look at it from a design perspective:
- we have a highly desireable feature FOW/UW
- it is restricted
- frustration kicks in
- at some point people leave. either for the US or for good.
- the feature is no longer a feature in Europe

Rewarding high power players with high power surroundings is a good way to keep them interested until the first expansion. if people loose interest they drop out of the game and you have to be twice as good to get them back with chapter2.
european high power gamers however have less rewards than other parts of the world. it would be foolish not to think that this does not impact the sales of upcoming expansions. while this feature is creating some international competition, it is not advancing the game from an entertainment point of view, nor a "motivate people longer" pov. Europeans feel left out of yet more explorations, and if you watch the behaviour of people feeling left out, you'll notice that they will simply switch to something that does not create this feeling.
I for my part just have fun with the game, and when I'm ready to go to FOW/UW I'll simply swap the server once and for all. Because I do not care about AN little game. Koreans too should all switch to the US as well. To show NC once and for all that players on the internet are not interested in petty disputes over Favors. They want gameplay and lots of it. Splitting up players like this is a disgrace for the "inter"-net community.

Well the damage is done yet. Too many European players allready moved to America. America and Korea have HoH guilds online 24/24. Europe only 3/24. And the odds they will win in that short period of time are bad. And it will only grow worse. Unless Anet comes up with something really great for European players, one after another, will switch. And by 'great' I don't mean a new set of fashionable armor lol!

(hmm, why am I so afraid it will have to do something with fashion??)

I switched from Europe to the US the first day (2nd May, 2005) I played GW. The pre-searing Ascalon looked like Babylon and there was no hope you could get a PUG at that time.

Funny, I started playing this game on European servers in june and the majority of people are speaking english in english district. Of course, you sometimes hear some french, german, etc.. but it's a minority, they usually switch to english in a group. Switching because of the language is a lame excuse.

I think A.net should not be afraid of european people switching to american servers. They should be very much afraid of european people losing interest in the game and stopping playing it. Because their next money will come from people buying the eventual expansion and if too many people are fedup with this ridiculous and biased favor system, then they simply won't buy it.

And no, I'm not going to switch server to US. And what I wish for is that Korea starts to hold the Tombs for a very extended long period so that american are denied the UW also like us. Then you can be sure A.net will do something about it.

Well, that's a lot of tough-talking from a player in a rank 728 Guild.

Funny, because I was one of the first to point out the horrible situation in an old "Europe: Losers' land" topic. Apparently, european players are still less experienced than the american ones, and they don't play as much as them. That is not necessarily a negative thing in itself (there are still some souls here, that remember how sweet real life can be when you switch off your beloved pc) but I'll admit it is when you want to be competitive. I joined an american guild ranked 30-40 and switched to the american servers after a week, people are nice and easy to get along with.

I'm still convinced that people have too much time to waste if they yell and fight over "nationalism" in a videogame forum. And don't forget that "nationalism" and "loving your country" are two VERY different things. I love my country without being nationalist.

let me explain a bit i am on a european server in a european guild and i knw why europeans almost never have favour they dont care atleast not mine guild they only think about getting a sigil and creating teams that 5/10 times sucks i like my guild annyway so i really dont care but what i think that is the major problem are the hundreds of thousands of small guilds with only 2 or 3 players whe have a fairly large guild so thats not a problem either and your right you knw what europeans do more then koreans or americans
