I think Blizzard is actually more honest than Arena.Net. The reason being that the people who bought WoW knew what they were getting: An MMORPG. The people that bought GW got a completely different product. But, of course all you people that joined post release don't think so because you were attracted not for the unique competitive gameplay, but for lack of monthly fees, and for good graphics.

Right, because only the alpha and beta players are able to have an informed opinion. Guess what, I got exactly what I wanted. And I certainly didn't purchase GW for the graphics or the lack of monthly fee. The former is a non-issue given my medoicre graphics card. The latter is also a non-issue since I can eat up a monthly fee with little problem. Why not stop being so coy and just openly start up with another rant about how PvP players are maligned.

*chortles* </minor personal attack>
As I recall, ArenaNet didn't promise anything about UAS or whatever. It just happened to be in the beta's and you'd be rather stupid to completely dismiss a perfectly good reason why there was UAS in the first place.
Really.
If you don't like it gtfo, whining isn't going to get anything changed. If you do, gtfo and continue playing. *gets the feck out and continues playing*

You see, no matter what anyone says, Blizzard knows games. They make great games. Two nights ago, I got my hands on World of Warcraft and a 6 month game-card wad as a gift. I installed the game, and 6 hours later, I realized that I in fact live in Texas, not Azeroth.
But you know what? All that razzmataz ia great and good, and the colors and the sheer VOLUME of material is staggering to me, but, well, it ain't guildwars!
Therefore, Blizzard, you did good, as always, and you made this older than usual gamer swell with pride, but you have not stolen my devotion.

Ive played to death too many games from too many different companies in too many different styles to place one on a pedistal over another without an overly just cause. I have some genres and styles down to a science where they dont even last a week anymore while/after running through all the options. Some of the ones i like end up getting more time per day spent on them and can be knocked out even sooner. The truly good ones also posess good replay. This also has caused me to gravitate towards online games as there is more inherent replay involved with other people.
Every game that i thought had something good within it, ill typically end up saying something about it in some form or another, even if it is not in the form of praise. No game that i disliked i ever took the time to say anything about it other than why i didnt like it when asked. It is far simpler to just walk away from it and forget about it, which nearly washes my hands of the entire experience.
You dont need to be a fanboy to appriciate something and ignoring shortcommings does not make something better.

Wow is defenitly not a grind compared to other MMO's.
WoW and GW both have their good and bad things bout them.
What I hate about WoW most is the way of fighting.. I've only played it myself shortly.. but from everyone vid I've seen and everyone I've seen playing.. it's basicly.. just attacking and using 3-4 major skills over and over again.. Not sure if this is true for every class etc.. since I've only played it for a day =/
Neways that's what I like A LOT about GW, you only get to bring 8 skills.. thus not 40 from which you won't ever use like 30 of them.
and you have to pick carefully a lot of difference in character builds can be found, and you actually have to think when to use skills at what time etc.. not as much for one build as another though, but still.. you could say it requires more skill so to speak than a lot of MMO's which are just.. button bashing when the skills are recharged

So let me get this straight...
ANet's made up of guys that left Blizzard to make their own company, to make games in; this particular game's about guilds.
Therefore...
Blizzard is like a guild, and some guys were in it, they left and made their own guild, to make games, about guilds, in which people join and leave guilds to make guilds of their own, but not to make games about guilds, because they're already in a game about guilds and they can't make games while in a game, let alone a game about guilds.

I would have taken offense at that crap if I actually believed it wasn't pasted from a google search result.
I like guild wars. Funny how this thread was about that, before all the spam and inanity raped it dry.
Kill it. It's dead.

Funny thing is when you go back to WOW for a night and wonder why all those mobs you see are dead already. And who is that person over there? How did they get in my instance?
