Think you stumbled on a good fix there. Hold a PvP X weekend every weekend, or even once a month. That way the hardcore PvP'ers will still play all the time, but the rest of us semi-PvP will all be on together at the same time to gain maximum benefit.

I think that both of your points are reasons why they're analyzing this way. They can analyze at any time, but I think that they want a massive amount of players so they can analyze a number of builds and examine them...
then again the nature of many builds has changed/will change due to the new update.

If the unlocking becomes too easy though, then the playing of PVP will just have one less thing to make it interesting. There must always be some other form of "reward" besides merely winning the battle. So, I don't want to see massive faction point gains all in a bunch. I will prefer them balanced and to take a good amount of time and perhaps increase the cost of some of the more uber runes and weapon upgrades to 3000 or 4000 faction points. Also being able to trade your faction points in for gold for those of us who play PVE about as much as we play PVP would be nice also.

I'm a spiker, and reading the update I can't really say that spike teams were nerfed... certainly things won't come as easy now but that just means we'll have to work against other teams besides the spammers and smiters... and now we don't have to fear the spammers either which means the only ones to fear are the smiters... new tactics can make spiking remain as a viable option for a fighting style.

this is the kind of player I love Come on man! Where's the bitching? Where's the threats to uninstall a game you've already bought? Where's the I-can't-play-superman-anymore-so-I-give-up! winning attitude that we've all come to know and love???
I hope I meet you in the tombs! I'm Doctor Slugfly and usually the team leader... and if I do meet you and you win, you'll get a "well done, gg" or something similar, no F*** YOU! or any of the other retardedisms that most people throw out when they're outclassed.

They didn't touch EoE which is good because i love laughing at entire teams that die from it.
But yeah. Skill fixes for the win.

If they stick with the faction it's looking good.
Faction still requires a lot of skill (you have to win duh) but for the skilled this weekend is finally moving into reasonable territory, which would keep them around to teach others to play

My fellow ODT guildies and I couldn't cap the alter in the final HoH battle because of some stupid ass glitch where our priest was like 100ft. up in the air and couldn't come down. We would have been the first guild to win HoH in the new update.
6K faction in one night crazy.

Yeah it was like 3-4 hours .. But man was it fun! We were trying out some new builds with the new changes and they worked like clockwork.

The faction rewards are a bit ridiculous now. Just for the weekend is ok.
I think in the long haul, something around 2-3 times the original amount would be good. Not too fast so that everything is unlocked at once, but not too slow either.
Anyone that says PvP unlocking is now on par with PvE is crazy. There's too much faction going out. I get about 2k an hour.
Maybe for skills, it's about right, though still on the high side since you can get whatever elite or skill you want in an hour. Capping a skill takes 30-1 hour if you're at that point, otherwise you have to do all this other stuff to get there which is more time.
For runes, it's completely absurd, I can get the specific superior rune I want in 1 hour. There's no way that's close at all to PvE.

I agree with this. Chain was taken down by 15 points and the AoE of it was lowered slightly. Not a huge deal.
If some rangers use Fertile, then we can take it out since there will only be one of them.

I must say, I'm very impressed with the amount of faction I can get, makes unlocking things much much easier... I really hope Anet keep it this way (Makes me want to actually do PvP now)

The best thing that teams in the HoH gets switched and not one spirit spammer guild holds the HoH for 6 hours. I already got 8 new elite skills from faction
