So lets all be glad that ANet listens their players, offers regular and major updates and that all for free.

if the development team were not listening to the players a large majority of the players would have left a long time ago. There is A LOT wrong with this game...and it continually get's better with every update thanks in part to the development team...but mainly for the players. ArenaNet listens to the community because the community does the scope analysis for them, they figure out what's wrong, what isn't working, skills that aren't balanced and then they offer mathematically solutions to fix the problems. Normally a development house would have to pay someone for this job...instead they outsource it to the community for free. If they weren't listening to the community the game would be a complete failure.
but since this is a congratulatory thread I will congratulate them on what they did accomplish....they built a visually stunning update and packed it with reasonably difficult quests, what WAS delivered is beautiful and it was never the problem...it was what they DIDN'T deliver. nice job nonetheless.

As someone stated before, they have said they are working on that. Seriously, releasing all in one update is non-productive for both sides. The more implemented features, the larger update, some players are still playing on dial-up. Also frequent updates rather than larger one will keep the community bursting. The community will be looking forward to the next update. Not mentioning the time it will take to implement it all till one particular date in one package.

The irony is that they have listened and have bent over backwards to try to please everyone, hence the reason people will continue to whine until they get what they want.
Sometimes I think it's a bad idea for PR reps to have such a 'casual' relationship with the community where everytime there is a beef they feel like they are owed an explanation and a fix.

Is this all you can bring to the table is a bunch of rhetoric and pablum full of babble and dribble Algren? I mean come on give your platform a rest since you have nearly beat this dead horse back to life. I can not even consider what you write seriously since you are like a broken reacord over and over about the Traders, over and over about this, over and over about that.
Man STFU!!!
If you are so embittered against this update then don't play the game! It is your choice! You decide! But certainly stop utilizing these boards and threads, hijacking them to spread your propoganda about how bad A-Net is and about how they covered up this or did not satisfy that. Who the hell cares??!!! I am satisfied and I am sure those posting here in this thread are too. I mean WTF do you expect for an update that is supposed to cost money? You have serious issues you need to work out but don't chose these boards to work em out!

and the point in that post is.....
People are entitled to their own opinion, however i see the updates good, not the sorrows furnace, thats just a load of red engine gore, but the other updates are fine, the incrased faction, guild settings ect ect.
maybe people just dont like the update, if more people dont like the update then poeple who DO like the update, then sorry your outnumbered and as the majority wins.. you lose.
but thats my opinion.....

just a thought and i am probably wrong but...........
what if they are just starting to hit their stride?
with chapter 2 having as much content as the full game (taking away the need to develop the engine, make all of the scenery except for new material) that leaves much more time to devote to making much more than Fed-X kill this go there quests
they are doing what they said they would which is fix things carefully a small bit at a time and warch how the change works out before changing something else,
they said we would get an auction house in late fall at the earliest after observer mode.
they keep adding to the game and since i am a so-so player it will be some time (if ever ) that i see this nice additional material in the furnace.
so what.
i am having fun with this game warts and all and will buy chapwer 2 on preorder just to say thank you for the fun i am having now
looking hopefully to the future

People do like the update though.
people who want changes are the people who post, very rarely do people see the point of posting a GJ Anet.
This Thread is for Positive feedback on Sorrows Furnace. we have enough complaints threads and flamefests. please refrain from commenting on other peoples maturity/sexual preferences.
This Thread is to let A-Net know that all of their time on this update was well spent. please ignore (and i thank the people for holding me back..) the whiners. i hope their posts will be removed as they are off-topic.

you're getting emotional over a forum....the issues are yours friend.
not a single place in any of my posts have I ever said "arenanet is bad" or "arenanet sucks"....i've pointed out where they have failed or fallen short and what their true intentions were for certain promotions...as a whole I think arenanet is a decent development house.....

Shows me they care. I'd rather have some contrversy and have this relationship continue than have GW become just like everything else out there. Yay Anet. ^^

About Three have been positive.
Those 20 Threads have been begun by about 3 people. 3!!
Those threads have ther most posts. not because there is more to talk about but because people are willing to repeat themselves endlessly when complaining.
The General View Is That The Update Is Very Good. listen not to the whiners and griefers Anet. they do not represent the will of the people.
|
so you made a thread to complain about those who complain? seems like you're being rather negative and in the exact same boat as them then eh
anyhow your plea for ANet to not listen to whiners will go unheard. ANet clearly does listen to whiners, which is precisely why the skills list is now listed in an awkward, babyish way by default

People hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see. With organizations thats not differend. If 20 people post that they like to play solo and 2 or 3 answer that this game is for teams, who do you think Anet will hear??
Anyway, most of the complaints are not about the update but about older issues. And maybe about how much better it could have been if Anet had really listenend with an open mind.
Of course you should keep in mind that launching a free update is part of a long term strategy to keep players in the game long enough to make it to the first expansion. Anet is not playing Santa Claus.

Yea, but it can also ruin the gameplay mechanics if they fiddle around too much.
Let's face it if players had thier way, they'd get a level 20 character and be able to get the best armor right away...oh wait.

Whilst I have yet to taste the update (stupid stupid work), I can't wait - sounds ggrreeaatt! I particlularly like the idea of the keys and the 'greenies'.
Not only the best game ever - but you get more than you originally paid for - for nothing. Keep it up Anet/NCsoft.
Don't worry about the whiners - even though you may find a few whines from me somewhere around here - that's life

<Sarcasm hat on>
The update was teh suxx0r!>_< I thought the EN bar waz gonna b changed 2 yellow so it matched my u8er cape and design but did they change it even though me and 3 of my m8s in our giuld (Lenoy Jerkins)sent a mssg to this guy who says he's a dev and knows teh frog. NO TEHY DID NOTT!
Also I like 2 draw stuff on the minimap coz its a laugh, but each time I do, the other team members tell me 2 stop it and I thought the update would have a filter so I could tell them 2 STFU without havong 2 press a button LOL but instead, we all got the attrib system nerfed, a central place 4 skills, chests with KEYS FFS and loads of glod items so I can;'t seell that GODLY MAX U8ER Falchion of Tenguslaying with 10% while hexed for 70k @LA anymore Like WTF?!!?!!?!!
And as 4 teh new areas. Why didn't they have it so that u can onlky join in with gud groups cos I PUG with n00bs. Theyre so stoopid that they dont know the point of playing is 2 kill as much stuff as possble, and to keep their warrior alive coz they cant kill as much as me. N00BS! LOL1111!!ONE!UR_A|L-tex 5uXx0rzz! OMFG\m/><\m?/
<Sarcasm Hat off>
Anet did a fantastic job. The update was completely worth the wait, fixed several issues, and bought new and refreshing elements to gameplay, and have IMO improved the game as well as supplied new and interesting areas.
I admit, I am a bit dissapointed by the fact that there weren't toggleable capes, or some kind of auction house implemented, but I'm pretty sure they're all on the horizon, and I can wait a little longer
As for the whiners, you all really need to have a good look at the update again and see it for its advantages for everybody, rather than your personal gripes.

ur right charcoal ann, anet should NOT listen 2 the whiners, they should only listen 2 the a** lickers and feebleminded fools who only nod when others nod. what i enjoyed most about ur post that ur basicly telling others 2 ignore those of a different opinion if doesnt represent the majority of the people.

I hate it when people refer to the updates, and especially when A.net refers to them as "free updates!". As stated before in this thread, they're not free. We payed the initial 50 bucks for the game because it promised to come with updates, and those updates are there to keep us playing so we can spend our next 50 bucks on their expansions. A.net's not doing us a favor. They're doing their job, and not very well may i add.
