It somehow, adds more damage to your attack because of the armor penetration. Theres more to be said but I feel that im just wasting my time on u.
Lol can we laugh publically at you now?
Sundering=Crap
Fortitude=Crap
Defensive Mod=Hooray!!!

To your original post. Not once have I ever given any thought to how my character's armor/weapon looked. The color of the name to me doesn't mean anything, but when the item's name is "The Bludginator" I can't resist it!!

I absolutely agree. Whenever I see a warrior with either a dragon sword or a fellblade, or even better - an eternal shield, I'm automatically thinking "what else does this guy not get?"

Needless to say, he'll throw up Mending a few seconds later, and I'll just write off the match.

Who ever said that "perfect" items makes a player better?? its the feeling that we have a weapon like that makes us FEEL better! why? because we can afford it. and people like me also preffers a maximun efficiency weapon....only it has to be popular! and nothing's wrong with that.

I rarely PUG anymore, but if I ever do in the future I'm going to make a screening criteria a request that each player control-click their weapon set(s). Anyone wielding any sundering, fortitude, skill mastery, or similar junk upgraded weapons and/or anyone with a chaos axe, fellblade, eternal shield, etc., is getting the boot. That will eliminate a great number of idiots, but it will also likely send me right back to using the henchies because the player pool will be too thin.

Anet has changed the game so the people who are use to the old economy and high priced items are being forced to change the way they play and of course there not going to like it. I love the changes becuase I can get thing cheaper and do more skill capture, quests, and mess around with PvP.

do you know what happens to an economy when you flood it with anything?

You're right Amand, weapons and shields aren't an indication of the players skill. However, some might be wielding a gold sword because they're glad they got something a little more special. That's why I like gold items. They're harder to find and there's more possibilities because of the upgrade system, so obviously it's harder to get a good gold items than it is to find a good green item, right?
That means that if you finally get hold of the gold sword you always wanted and upgraded it as you wanted, you feel alot more excited about it because you actually worked for it. Killing a boss to get a green item isn't exactly hard; collecting 5 trophy items for a collector isn't a challenge either. That's why it's so nice to get something you've been hunting for for a long time.

Atleast that's why I like gold items...

Also, "sign of reality-loss"? It's a game - there's SUPPOSED to be a certain amount of reality-loss, as long as it doesn't go to the extremes and it becomes a permanent reality-loss.

This is a gaming board which means we're here to discuss the game. There's no need to drag subjects such as "reality-loss" into it. Simply discussing economy in a game could be called reality-loss, but I'm pretty sure everyone here knows exactly what's reality and what's not. The point is that we're playing a game so we naturally discuss things that aren't important in real-life but important in the game.

That's what gaming boards are here for!

Hehehe. These posts are so funny.

I just started playing about a month ago. Well me and my bro don't see the rational behind the cost of some items. For one you can make the same thing for much less and mods aren't that rare. As we have found most mods, that are worth 80K+ in only a month of playing.

Now we played Diablo II since (Beta) and never found items as easy as in this game. The game isn't designed around PvE. It's CALLED "Guild Wars" (PvP) and designed to have an even playing field when it comes to items, equipment, etc.... This is where skill takes over and exactly we I've been looking for.

If you are looking for something else. Then this isn't your game.

Making fun the poor people who have handicaps and aren't as fortunate as us is a horrible thing to do. Make fun of me if you like; I really don't care, but making fun of people who mental illnesses or physical problems really isn't a good thing.

I'm not gonna flame you because I don't take you seriously at all when you do things like that.

Anyway, discussing on this discussion board is the whole POINT of a discussion board. Discussing with someone you don't know personally doesn't make the discussion retarded, stupid or any less intellectual (sp?).

There's an awful lot of PvE content in a game designed around PvP (not my belief, just what some people keep saying).

The title of a game matters about as much as the title of a new headline. Ever seen the one "Police help dog bite victum". Think about it for a second, one mis-placed comma changes the whole meaning.

Its a PvE and a PvP game. Half-Life 2 would be another example, just a different genre.

Edit: And I'll never get tired of pointing this out.
