I've found a lot of use out of Water Trident too The low energy cost, near-nil cast time, and miniscule recharge make it a great skill for 53 damage and knockdown against those dancing idiots. Great, great skill, but very difficult to create a build around it.

(note: this list is for PvE)
Warrior: Eviscerate
Elementalist: Fire Storm
Ranger: Kindle Arrows
Monk: World of Healing
Necro: Blood Ritual (because it doesn't take an elite slot or sacrifice as much health as Blood is Power)
Mesmer: don't have a Mesmer so I couldn't speak from experience

I've been playing only the best skills that my team needs for so long I actually had to sit and ponder for a while to come up with any favorites.
I'd have to say the old healing seed and ward against melee are probably my favorites.
In the Arenas though it's Inspired Hex, hands down. Nothing makes me cackle on vent like pulling Pacifism(or Amity) off of one of my warriors and throwing it back at the other team. Other hexes are fun too, especially when I'm swimming in energy.
Gale is probably next on the list. What's not to love about Gale?
P.S. Anyone using BiP without a 20% enchanting part needs to get back to basics, as well as checking where the sweet spots are.
P.P.S. We're talking about "favorite skills" not "best skills"- I hope you didn't think most people would be rational in their choices.

Ele: It's hardly the most practical of skills, but Gale. Ward Against Melee, Maelstrom, Flame Burst and Glyph of Energy are also on my happy list.
Ranger: Barrage is my favorite damage skill, but Distracting Shot is my bread and butter.
Monk: Zealot's Fire. I heal like I always do and do chip damage with fire as a bonus.
Necro: Lately, it's been Rotting Flesh when facing fleshy PvE opponents. Putrid Explosion, Fiends and Offering of Blood are all nice.
Mesmer: Echo when I have an Elite slot available, Diversion when I don't.
Warrior: No idea, I'll probably never play as one. Disrupting Chop is a pain in the ass when used against me.

Necro's are more than batteries. If you treat them as such, you are limiting yourself.

Wow. You're pretty rude.
Look dude, you don't have to tell me that necromancers are more than batteries. I know that. I preach that. Thanks for backing that up, more PUGs should be aware that we're not just f'in batteries. I'll leave your group if you use the word "battery" to define me, heh.
Do you use the same "on your knees servicing me" line on the monks in your party? Or are you just trying to be rude to me because I prefer BiP over WoP? Playing a support role is "servicing" one's teammates -- support means giving of yourself for the benefit of others, plain and simple, and you can cast as negative of a light on it as you wish, I guess. But make sure you disrespect the healers/protectors out there just as much as you do the necromancer support characters, mmm kay?
I like to cut myself, and you like playing with dead bodies. I think that my method of support is superior to yours, when it comes down to it, and you disagree. Great. Have a good day. (By the way. Blood Renewal is an amazing addition to BiP -- you can cast about 6 or 7 BiPs in a row, no matter how much health you currently have, and not die as long as you have those pips of regen. Fun stuff, thank you ANet for improving it!
BiP
Targeted
+6 energy regen
Cast anytime
WoP
"Stand in the Well please!"
+2 energy regen
Cast if there's a corpse around
There's really no competition from the way I see it. You go ahead and use WoP, though, and I'll use BiP since I like it better.
*Warriors, stop asking us to BiP you. Use adrenaline, hehe.

For the classes I've played....
- Mantra of Recall {E}. For Serious. I slap this on right before a fight in PvE, and halfway through the fight I get 23 energy back. If that isn't sex, I don't know what is- there's nothing like running out of energy as a monk and crying because your party is dying, and then MoR comes right back and gives me >half my energy. I used this + boon before I got Peace & Harmony. But I also adore hex breaker... unless they disrupt stances, it's going to block the first hex they cast- which, due to the overall skill level in Random (cough), is the least important one. >>
- Spinal Shivers for my Me/N. Nothing like monks screaming at you after they die that spinal shivers is overpowered. And for some reason, I never seem to have problems with energy management... now if only those little monks would stop running around the pillar thing on the Kryta random map. -_-
- For my monk? Reversal of Fortune! Can't tell you how many times, in Random Arena, that I've managed to tire out a few inept warriors by spamming RoF and Healing Touch. They get bored and wander off to assault others, thus leaving me alone to heal. I <3 idiots.
