My first time doing UW. I saw a npc, and he was giving out all these missions. I was like, yush, missions for the win! So I clicked on every single one of them...
So yeah, monsters, bum rushed us. Nearly crapped myself. =/

I felt like a noob a little while ago.
I was in droknars to buy and try on new armor when some friends asked me to come help on a mission.
So i strap on the new armor, sell the old set and move out to the rescue.
At some point, i think it was the ring of fire mission, you get to a gate with several mursaat standing on it.
So .... this is what my ele was geared up for ... i step forward ... target them en start casting meteor shower
Before i finish casting i am dead.
I'm thinking WTF hit me
Then i realize my new armor is not infused ....

Apparently this guy was in a group doing the mission "Gates to Kryta". The group was in the part with the poisonous swamp and a large group of undead. The entire group died except him (i think he was the monk, not sure) and the group was yelling for him to run away, but he found that he could not move. He kept holding down the forward key, but he just couldn't move. So, he tried to yell out that he couldn't move and what came out was "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwI can't move!!!"
That cracks me up everytime...

Oh..Man....That cracks me up too. Why? Because it still happens to me from time to time. I get so ticked off at myself when I realize that I am in "chat mode". Thinking I am stuck once again on someone's Pet or Minons. Do I just hit Enter and clear the chat? Heck no. I waste precious seconds erasing the WWWW's so I don't look like a total idiot. When team mates ask why I am not doing anything I say...sorry damn lag.

VxWolfxV .... thats one of the funniest stories on here. I do that all the time.
Can't count the number of times I've been in a mission and "couldn't move" because I was in chat. ha ha ha. Unlike "Old Warrior Dood" I just press enter and team chat the most useless message of "wwwwwwwdddddddwwwwww". So dumb.
Also hate it when I think I'm in the chat window and I'm not. So you start typing and you get every freakin' window known to man opening on your screen.... sooo annoying.

That happens to me LOTS of times. I am VERY used to Quake 3 (my other timespending hobbie). There, the º key ALWAYS put the console up and down. You press º while writing and the chat is off. But here in GW is the character is written instead lol. But hey, I've played thousands of hours of Quake 3, my mind is forever used to that

Well i must be blessed because of my ViM skills.
ViM is a text editor where you have to press esc to go back to the default mode of editing. So almost all ViM users have a Escape tick where they constantly press escape, after typing a line of text.
Also works like a charm in GuildWars.
So never had much trouble with the "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwcan't move".

worse part is when you type something like:
"Run its hard"
and since you hit R before opening the chat window you begin to run towards the mobs, your mini map disappears, your friend list pops up, followed by your inventory, hero screen. and all you want to do is close them fast so you can click in the opposite direction....
but you hit enter cause you thought you sent a message and now your chat window is filling up with your key presses to turn, run, or turn off those screens.
I might have died once or twice that way. No good way to explain it.

Yeah these are all great. I'm actually kind of suprised by the lack of flame war.
Anyway, another n00b story:
So, I'm helping a guildmate get his character through the Gates of Kryta mission. In order to make group-forming simple, I advertise that there is a lvl 20 in the group, and of course get five meeeellion responses.
I make a good team and we head out. One of the members of the group (who claimed he was a healing monk) stands there doing nothing. We all die (except me) on the first group of enemies due to lack of monk. All this time he is casting healing spells on himself, even though hes not taking any damage.
We continue to the next mob. When my guildmate's health gets low, he asks for a heal. The monk... heals himself. Another party member needs a heal. The monk... heals himself.
Eventually we get to the Swamp section, where the Monk charges in and dies. He then says (and this is his first message the ENTIRE mission) "OMFG Y U GUYZ NO HEAL????????. We ignore him, so he drops from the mission.
Monk n00bs DO exist. Hopefully you never have to deal with one.

And then once you realize you are running towards your doom you get into panic mode and just start mashing your keyboard. lol.
Thats hillarious!

Not really much of a noob story, but I thought it was pretty funny when, after trying to sell a chaos axe in LA for a while, I was glad to get an offer for 3k which was much more than it was worth. I went to the guy, open the trade window and put in the axe, wait for his 3k to come up and what do I see? Not 3 plat but 3 gold. I just kind of sat there for a moment and laughed and let the window stay open to increase his tension. Then I cancelled, told him I got an offer of 4 gold and asked if he would he care to bid higher. Needless to say, I never heard from that guy again.

I've gotten a monk in Thunderhead Keep who didn't speak, barely healed, and spent most of the mission away from the group. Now...this was a group of people who had all tried the mission at least five times, and the last thing we were worried about was getting the bonus, so we made it clear that NO ONE was to light the beacons. So what did our trusty healer do? She lit the beacons, and then spent the rest of the mission running around aimlessly. She didn't heal once after that.
We made it through the hardest part, and then were overwhelmed by the bonus Mursaat.

Looks like I have another one.
When I was looking for an axe (if your read the original post, you'll know that I was looking on behalf of a Guildmate) I encountered some guy spamming "UBER AXE 4 SALE COME SEE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Figuring (incorrectly) that I had nothing to loose, I asked to see the axe.
I get a bit worried when it turns out the guy is at level 5.
He shows me the axe, which is 3-4 damage and asks for me to make an offer. I politely inform him that his axe is minimum damage and that there's no way anyone could possibly want to buy it. I get the phrase "STFU NOOB MY AXE R TEH PWNZ!!!!!!!" spammed at me.
I send him only one message:
"Look, the n00b spams and I ignore."
And he went on my ignore list.
Kind of sad, but funny at the same time.
