Hacking in Tombs?
I was in Tombs today and we were doing relic runs. They had one of their monks rush in and grab the orb so I call him and everyone starts to go after him. Then we noticed something weird....The monk was running at like super speed. Even our sprint warrior couldn't get to him before he got to the ghost. Also I'm not sure if this is out of the ordinary but they had a warrior who was hitting our warriors for 170+ damage with eviscerate which I've never seen before. Has this happened to anyone else?

weaken armor might account for the damage, but this game is basically hack proof

Its hackproof. I remember hearing about it. The game is stored on a-net on not on computers, so you can't hack in, or something. 170 dmg? Weaken armor, 16 axe, strength of honor.... judges insight.... critical hit.... a number of things. super speed? charge + sprint + windborne speed or something. I think the max you can run is 50% though.

Do run speeds stack? If he had a ranger secondary he could have been using dodge or escape or stormchaser, or sprint if he was an Mo/W. That combined with a water (or air, can't remember) spell that inreases run speed by 25%. If it stacks, that could be it, along with a couple other things.

the running speed stacks up to 33%, but that is not including the relic that slows it down. So basicly sprint+charge+windborne might make him 33%, which is faster than the warriors 25% sprint.

Sorry forgot to say he had a mesmer secondary and if I remember right they had no elementalists but if they did even with Windborne he shouldn't be able to outrun a warrior with sprint.
Edit: Also they had no necros so rule out weaken armor.

Illusion of Haste requires you to stop and cast it. I had him targeted the whole time and he didn't stop nor did it show up on his casting bar. If he had casted it before I targetted him it wouldn't have lasted the whole way to the Hero.

Illusion of Haste - Enchantment Spell
For 5-10 seconds you are no longer Crippled, and you move 33% faster than normal. When Illusion of Haste ends, you become Crippled for 15 seconds.
Close though xP

Hmm...Not sure. I will not say that this game is hackproof. I have seen other server based games be hacked to high heaven and back. But, it does seem that maybe with the right skill usage, what happened to your group is possilbe. Now, if it seems a little far fetched, use fraps if you have it to start recording the fight and email to the right people. If there is something that you saw that was wrong...chances are, the people you send it to will see it as well.

let me just say it wasnt a hack. as for how he did it, well, some running speed with windborne speed on him, possibly you were snared and didnt realise it. the only thing i know which resembles 'hacks' (but its actually a glitch) is when your ghost like disapears in relic runs and you cant give him the relic. either that or you select your ghost and your character just moves to this random spot on the map asnd you basically cant deliver the relic. beyond that, i have *never* seen a hack in tombs and i doubt i ever will.

The only reason I thought it could be a hack was because I remember hearing about someone on here who knew how to make a speedhack but was only using it to speed up his casting animation for video purposes.

Heh.
Valid point. You got beaten and you blame it on a hack. Congratulations, you've joined the ranks of whiny girl losers everywhere.

Heh actually we won because their hero got stuck under the map after respawning. No hero = No captures. I'm not proud of it but it proves my point that this thread wasn't to whine. Now calm yourself and find someone else to flame.

Nothing is " Hack-proof "
However, GW is best coded for anti-hacking.

The only way to hack it is to hack into anets server, as all the stuff is calculated there. Kuntz has a way to slow down guild wars to copy animations, but thats not really beneficial.

Did you note if a warrior nearby was using "Charge!" ? It's a shout, so it should stack with an enchantments or stances.
