Europe is keeping the favor, so we really don't need those people to come back anymore. I got to buy my first fissure armor part today.

I think it's rather obvious (at least in the town where I live) that Warcraft is paying the game shops for advertising. There is always a huge WoW poster in front of the shop, and I've been there twice to buy a copy of GW, and each time the guy asked me if I also am interested in WoW ... reminded me of McDonalds, because it sounded like something they have to ask every customer, not just smalltalk with a rare occurrence in a games shop - a female interested in buying something ;p.
WoW is doing much better marketing than GW thus gets way more customers.
And I also have one account on american, and the other one on Euro right now - Euro servers are empty on the positive side, it allows me to meet many nice people, since they don't dissapear in the masses .

You have to see it like Europe is taking their time to get a group ready, and all the impatiend and easily distracted people leave the group to go to the group where they talk in all caps, thus leaving all the determined people for the win!
I can already see trouble brewing though, so to all you Ex-EU server people who take this personally, it's just a funny jest, it doesn't mean anything. You can reply and say you're not impatient and everything, but I won't read it, save yourself the trouble for the sake of this topic.

Actually I am happy to see that EU servers get more favor lately. No contintent deserves to get locked out from UW/FoW completely as EU did in the summer.
I play on US servers because it's more convenient for me and because 95% of my friends are there, that's all. The only things I ever took personally is the guys calling players like me a "traitor" for leaving EU servers. Because as you just said, GW is a funny jest which doesn't mean anything. There are Korean guys fighting on EU side, US guys fighting for Korea, and Europeans (like me) who turned their EU guild into an US guild. It's a game...
Have fun working on your Fissure armor - it feels good seeing your bank account filling up with Ecto!

Catch 22 isn't it. Many Euros now on the American servers won't come back because Europe is now so quiet - because many Euros are now on the American servers
I would hope that Anet (being perfectly aware of this issue) will address it somehow. I'm not going to start any suggestions as to how - that's one for the Sanitarium.
'World at Flaw' - nicely put, and it pretty much says it all really. Though I do see Europe gaining favour much more often recently. WaW is still blah though.

even i belong to guild which players are in AM_district. Not me thought. hardly see any sense in it but, i can? yup. since im not 24/7 GW fanboy.
Its really STUPID to play on AM servers if youre located in EURO. But i think youre just a peeps who enjoy McFucnalds/RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOCola too? Wave the flag of AM i dont really care, but if you have your roots in EURO, why play for AM?
(all my friends are in AM!)
(i love AMericans.)
(i think AM is way cooler than...)

I will be changing over to the american server soon. (as soon as my new charachter can get to fow).
My only concern is any lag issues, but to be honest i cant see it being any worse, as lately ive noticed alot more rubber banding (in the last week).
Ill also be changing as some of the districts are just so bare. I did thirsty river last night and there was only 1, 3 quarters full district. As you can imagine it took a while to get a decent group. I remember having the same problem with the fire isles, if you didnt come on at peak time it was just bare.
I also think that having less accsess to fow lowers the "quality" (for want of a better word) of players you find there. For instance last week i went into fow, and it was the first time i got in for about a week and a bit. First of all i had to rush a group together before we lost favor (which we lost about 20 minutes into the game). And also as most of the team hadnt been there for a week like me, it makes it harder to be "good" (again for want of a better word), We were a good team and spent a good few hours in there. But i mean good in the sense of knowing the area and all the quests ect, the kind of "good" you get from having the accsess to practice in the area.
I hope that made sense.
If this was going to be fixed then i wouldnt be planning to move, but all we hear is "we are listing / make suggestions / we will do something"
Well to be honest ive lost count of the amount of suggestions people have made (including myself), and lost count of the amount of people that have complained about the WAW system, LESS TALK MORE ACTION.
The only thing that has stopped me moving straight away is my guild, but then some of them have already moved to US servers.

Just out of interest, i take it you live in portugal.
Why are you posting on an english forum, i ask as are there not portugeese ones?
that would say something about how popular / available or how well marketed the game is there.

I've just switched back to Europe after playing on American servers for a few months. I have found that the general quality of random PUGs in Tombs is much higher in Europe than America, could be just my good luck though.

lol Just like real life. everyone rushes to America for a place to live as the home of the free, and a place to get a good education, but then berates us once here for not respecting the culture they fled from. lol oh well...
sorry. Off topic.

I thought the server setups was because of timezones...
So when the Koreans/Americans/Europeans are awake and in prime time, every other server is either: asleep or work/school (with the exception of people like me who dont have normal sleeping schedules...posting 6:40 am EST).

More like unwanted rant.
I'd take living in Europe over the US anyday.
Besides, American education is glorified babysitting.

I agree with you neoteo, but what is the answer? The old way meant more populous districts, but IMO trying to extract conversations from the channels in a language you understood was horrible.
So do we suggest everyone has to speak the same language? If so, which one? Most Europeans are quite rightly proud of their own language, and I doubt they would easily accept being forced to speak another - even if they could, doesn't mean they would.
I vote for Welsh as the European national language
Hmmm, I better start learning my own language boyo isn't it

Isn't Alaska that bit of mainland US they cut off from California in an attempt to get rid of it, only to find it floated north and got stuck to Canada?
By rights you should be a little island in the middle of the Pacific. No ... that's Hawaii

Oh I agree... I would take an Oxnard Education over Ivy League or MIT any day... But I doubt I could afford it. lol Heck I have a bachelors degree in MIS now, and its practically worthless... the thing that gets me the most work is my Certifications... A+, Network+, MCP, and working toward MCSD. The College degree had very little to offer for the REAL world. but its still something everyone wants you to have... Just another piece of paper in my book. I take a cert tech over a degree tech every-time anymore. They know lots more REAL world scenarios instead of just Book knowledge.
LOL and yea. Alaska is that 3rd world country US owns. lol If it wasn't for the Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas we have... we would have been dumpped a long time ago. lol
for record I was thinking more Eastern Europe... I know I have seen great progess in the west there over the past 30 years. But I still Like my good old USA. lol I'm just wierd... lol

I honestly cant blame people for wanting to goto American servers..
Even though I disagree about the language thing.. everyone I meet speaks english and if there is a foreign guy everynow and then.. so what, makes it interesting.
and even though everytime I have ever felt like ordering a bunch of newbies around in FoW or UW, Europe has had the favor nearly everytime.
and even though I could argue some nationlistic point about british citizens representing the americans (I guess you voted blair :P) I still wouldnt blame them, simply because of the amount of people on their servers!
its a big big problem to even find the right proffesions you want to organise a team.. in Team Arenas or Tombs or temple of ages..anywhere you go in fact... on american servers.. you enter a district and before you have had chance to say "lfg" you have several invites already.
And dont even get me started on looking for decent recruits in Europe.
Then there is the amount of traders.. so much easyer to buy and sell simply because there is more chance of someone actually wanting what you have to sell.
I just cant see a soloution .. even if every european in american servers came back.. I still dont think there wouldnt be enough same-language people to be anywhere near as populated as American servers.
I personaly think they should have done it so that you have european copies, american copies and korean copies.. and you cant swap at all, but you can still meet in international districts.
But its too late now. The only thing Europeans can do is construct the best guilds in the world and simply be the envy of everyone such that even americans want to come to our servers....
what are the chances?
