People won't deviate from some arbitrary build? Pff yeah right. I went to SF last week with MMPR to do the last mission, and we had a mesmer/necro...doing...dual...orders >.> Okay maybe that's not a big surprise, but we did bring Mhenlo along for a good time!

Tank, Minion Master, Nuker, and 2 Healers is a fairly efficient way of farming greens. A lot of people do it because it's perhaps the best way of making gold.
Hence, sacrificing a little creativity (which has no negative costs for them) provides a boost in amount on money made per unit time (which does have a benefit).
However, I do get extremely annoyed when people become so inflexible that they merely hurt the team. I'm never one for waiting hours for monks, so I usually just take Henchies after a couple of minutes (except for notable expections, like the Dunes of Despair bonus or the Last Day Dawns).

Because there are only four SPECIFIC classes parties want.
A Meatshield
Minion Master
Echo Nuker
Healer
And that's being generous. Most farming parties will not even bother with the necro, and go out with a 5 man farming team. Absolutley zero compromises. Blood Necro? Forgetaboutit. Ranger? Forgetaboutit. Mesmer? Forgetaboutit.
And all of this silliness is simply because of greed - greed over items that are worth less than a top collector's item. At least a collector's ascalon bow gotten from Mineral Springs can be modded with strings and grips and turned into the best bow money can buy - and most players poopoo it because it doesn't "look" cool.

I spam LF 1 R/W Rezon Evasion Tank[tm] for 1/2 hour and NONE show up or even PM me, so I just grab a W/R or W/Mo that is ready avaible that spam invite at me, but i check their skill bar of course and 8 out of 10 time it turns out from ok to great party

I stopped looking for invites to groups with my Ranger long ago. I ususally start my own groups. The invitation line goes something like this:
Starting Group to SF. All classes welcome - especially R/Me/N. Join for some FUN!
Iallways get nice people to party with - rarely any monks or warriors, but that's what henchies are there for (and they are smarter than most players anyway...)

I have notice a kind of elitism in players once they get to the desert. There are alot of players who assume that they know everythiong and demand all sorts when they get this far in the game.
I have my 3rd character to ember light camp now, play mostly with guildmates and a some extra bods for the one or two hard missions, TK etc.
it amuses me when i see people spending ages trying to build the perfect group with 2 divine healers for some of the desert quests when i just take some henchies out and complete it, they are still there looking for players when i get back.
Amuses me no end.

I'm also amused when I see those so-called "perfect" groups dying at the first mob they get to in Footprint. I don't know how many times I've been in a group that had to rezone simply because the warrior managed to aggro about 20 monsters, the healer gets a tad too close, and suddenly the whole backfield is filled with bone minions.

Extremely biased opinion. What, you think that happened because it was 5 people group? Somehow I doubt it, getting R or Me doesn't automatically make it "non-noob". There are fools amongst all classes, what you use here could just as well happen with wanna-be Mesmer or Ranger.

My views are about the same as everyone else here. However i still feel as though monk is a neccessity. Successfull groups are few and far between without a monk. This regardless of the talent or variety of the offensive players. Sad but true.

/agree.
i had someone cussing at me because he knew brutal mauling (the bear attack) knocks down. Any arguement otherwise was futile because he had 2 accended characters and therefor made him 'all knowing'.

No, I'm amused that a person spends all that time constructing the "perfect" team only to have it fail within 2 minutes of entering the zone.
Lighten up Francis.

The better teams could do very well with a blood necro. I prefer having a necro on my team. You need nukers, and a tank.. but a necro is a very useful class to have on a SF team.
Rangers, I dunno so much. I've never played a ranger. In my opinion, they're probably better off farming in UW with the trapping teams. I mean, I'm sure rangers would be useful in SF, don't get me wrong.. but I dunno.
This is why it's good to have more than one character tho :/ Sorry to hear people are being stupid tho.

Yeah, rangers are useful in UW. But what all u ppl forget that farming smites(what most groups do) gets boring after a while.
Monks, Ele and (mostly) warriors can join a group anywhere. I agree that there should be a difference in classes, and that rangers arent good everywhere, but Anet made a new area. Arent rangers and mesmers allowed to at least discover these new lands?
I mean, I haven`t seen whole Footprint and SF yet.
And about the 'take henchies' arguement. Try it yourself, some ppl like it that they listen, but not all of us. And I bet that some monks/ele/warriors wont like it either.
But they are not forced to go with henchies, so they would never know how it is to never be accepted in any group.
