met one on gvg on the other team, was damn funny.

There ARE farming sweatshops with people farming Guild Wars for long hours so their company can sell game items online. A-Net has even written about that in an article about these eBay sellers as well.
Welcome to the Information Age where sweatshops are created for virtual gold.

Um, nope actually; its not a linear realationship, its a power law - the important bit being *2^(-armour/40).
40 armour gives *2^(-1) = *1/2
however 20 amour is *2^(-1/2) = *squareroot(1/2) = *0.707
which is reducing received damage by about 30%, clearly better than the quarter that you have suggested.

yeah, but they usually should be worked around as soon as they are found out by A.Net...which can be slow if there isn't too much complains.
thats the thing about not paying a montly fee for a mmorpg type game...you don't pay a montly fee so you can expect a slower developper response since they don't have the usual income that comes from montly fees to help them create an effective support team.
but after countless hours of PvP, i have yet to see someone not taking damage. (exept for the duration of a specific spell/skill, of course).

A good cheat program would'nt be so obvious as to make someone take no damage forever. It would buff or reduce damage by a few seconds. In the heat of battle who'd notice an extra second.

How could a cheat program buff or reduce damage? All the calculations are done on the server, the client just displays the numbers....

Actually, knight armour works for the part of the body the pojectile hits. It hits your legs you get the -2 damage for that hit. Hits your chest but you only have leg knight armour, you get full damage. Hits your chest and you have chest knight armour you get the -2 damage for that hit.

No argueing with the devs. they made the game.

Nocens Imperceptus - that guide is incorrect. Damage Absorbtion from knights & Ascalon armor is currently a global effect - this has been tested and proved many times by many different players. While it might have been intended to be location specific, as it stands right now it's global effect and that has NOT been fixed/changed.

Try doing some research here and you'll soon find that we know what we're talking about and the guide on the main Guild Wars site is incorrect. The dev's might have made the game, but what they say on that guide isn't 100% correct and can be argued with since multiple player's have tested it and found that guide to be wrong. Can't argue with facts.

I'm not sure how most hacks CAN work on an online game like this. everything is done on the main server. you'd need to hack the server to get any changes. and that is both hard and VERY illegal.
OT.
on the armor thing. i once thought what the manual said was true. i did some testing myself. it is wrong. the armor is bugged. it is SUPPOSED to act like the manual says but doesn't (and would still be crap if it did).
i hope ANet fix it some day. after finishing the necro armor of course

Yea, the way i understand it is plate has 85 (5 more) than knight at 80. So even at -3 reduction its still 2 less armour than plate.
i think.

No.
Just.. no.
Guild Wars is exclusively driven by the network (id est, everything you do, you have to recieve it from the network). Any vulnerabilities would have to exploit the Client-Server protocol, but I doubt it would be able to affect anything that would be of fundemental use. I find it highly unlikely that such client-server exploits would propogate through the network.
And to find a client-server error, you would have to be sitting there with a UDP packet sniffer--and you would have to know the client-server protocol, which, to say the least, is rather...complicated.
On top of all that, with all the people who report bugs and the fact that the development community is very active, I doubt the error would last for long, and I'm sure that it would be corrected retroactively.
But, I could be wrong.

i just a warrior with armour of earth and the occasional obsidian flesh
results in taking 0 dmge from attacks and being imune to most spells
= lots of noobs saying omg you lame hacker imma gonna report you
the fact that 1 warrior like that can defeat 4 noobs with ease just makes them even angryer
a warrior with 1 part of knights armour and a sup absorp , earth at 10 with armour of earth takes 0 dmge from meelee attacks and a bit of dmge from spells like fireball
add obsid flesh and you take 0 dmge from everything
xept conditions and hexes
