Play with a guild and friends! If you play w/ friends or guildies that become friends gaming is twice as much relaxing and you know them so you get to be real good together.

I had this problem last night. I went to go cap some skills from the Ring of Fire mission using only henchies and advice from a guildmate through guild chat. I got my skill fine without more than 1 or 2 henchies dieing along the way (this was at the lava part I believe where they insisted in staying in lava). Anyway, I get a PUG for the mission, and right out of the gate they aggro all like 12 Mursaat there. Oook, second try they aggro all 6 Jade bows then the mursaat. Third try, *sigh* we try to assault the gate head on and well...yea.

Also had a funny experience last night. Playing as trapping ranger, I stood around TOA looking to see if I could get into some kind of group without much advertising effort for a change. Someone was forming a group looking for 2 trapper rangers plus assorted other professions for an FOW tour. I figured, why not, would be nice to see what trapping can do down in FOW instead of a trapper only UW tour. Group gets formed with one other ranger, 2 Mo, 2E and 2 W. And suddenly we are on our way to UW! No one seemed to know why we went there and who sent us there, the team communication was so poor.
Well, the other ranger and I were allowed to set traps for the first monster group. Of course 2 rangers were not enough to stop the enemy, and so the rest of the team had to fight. This didn't work out so well with some of the group dying, but we managed. But now the rest of the group no longer wanted to wait for the rangers to set traps. Since we were equipped for trapping (as requested) there was little we could do during an actual battle except to try to set traps here and there without getting interrupted. This went on for the next 2 battles. In the meantime a few in the party including the party leader were using a lot of effort to yell at the monks for not healing enough. I gave the warning that if the team did not get together and start using us rangers as trappers, I would leave. They didn't listen, and when the leader started calling out Noob! I left. Shortly after the other ranger whispered me and I told him to leave also and meet me to find another group, and we did, and we had a good time afterwards!

It seems ridiculous that trappers would be requested and not utilised.
I guess people got impatient waiting for you, but as for them dying when they actually had to fight that is awful. I have frequently taken my mesmer into 5 or 6 man FoW teams, so after your traps softened up the enemy a little, surely they could have finished the mobs off? *Shrugs*

Yes, it was a funny, amusing situation where you just shake your head and wonder, what were they thinking? It was sheer chaos. The monks in the group were screaming at the others not to rush and let us do our jobs first (lay traps) whereas the others were screaming all sorts of bad things at the monks for not healing enough. Doh! Its tough for monks to keep up with the damage that UW creatures give (without those protective things that max out damage given to 5 or 10%). At least no one asked me to pay any of the 1000 gold to come down there, which is good because we all expected to go to FOW anyway.
I hoped the party would have gone to FOW, as I was looking forward to playing as a dirt throwing trapper, sneaking around during a battle and laying traps whenever I could (when I wouldn't have them interrupted).
