Help my guild realize that IWAY sucks!!
For the past few weeks I have been contemplating ways to get my guild, Bringers Of Misery, to not use IWAY as it's primary build. (You may have fought us, we're the ones trying to convince you that it's not IWAY cause we don't use I Will Avenge You) And I have come to the conclusion that the only way to remove this drug from their systems is by losing more often then winning. The membership clings to it because of the fame and faction (And the fact that we made it to the Hall several times only to be the last team with a living hero and still manage to not get the hill. Huh, who'da thought IWAY would be bad at King of the Hill maps) What we need, friends, is to experience some devstating loses.
The myriad of PUGs found in the Tombs will not accomplish this because, as we all know, the ones that don't play IWAY will generally be beaten by IWAY.
What my guild needs is for all the top ranked guilds to start playing HoH more often. With quality guilds playing in the Tombs, people will finally realize just how much posterior IWAY actually eats.
After devestating loses against iQ, Ectos and Shards, and Apathy Inc. (and when I say devestating, I really mean as total and glorious defeats as you can imagine) more people are agreeing with me, but it isn't enough. More top guilds must play in Tombs and beat us senseless.
While this will probably not dissuade the common IWAY PUG, it will completely destroy the prevailing attitude within my guild that this is the build that will carry us to the top. Yes, my friends, it has even gone so far as for us to GvG with this build. They say that this order necro build will be the key to beating guilds under rank 100, and stick by it completely, even after these few 'minor loses'.
So please, top guilds, after the global tourney if you must, start playing more HoH, and save my guild from being such RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing noobs.

Spiteful Spirit Necro > IWAY
So yeah don't expect to face anything but IWAY or really challenging in HoH unless you face the rare non-FOTM builds.

Give me a PM, ign Loriel Waria. Use it in GvG against us. We wouldn't mind kicking IWAY's ass a few more times.

w00t big it up now...
IMO IWAY doesn't 'suck'.. this has been beaten to death many times on other threads. In my opinion it's a good build as long as you have decent teamwork; just like any other build. The only reason why it's got a bad name is because it's easy to pull off wins with a disorganised PUG, which 90% of IWAY groups are anyway. People just need to keep IWAY in mind when forming builds, and also other builds they may face ie spikes.

It's only easy to pull off a win with iway if the enemy team is a disorganised pug.

IWAY does not "suck" in that if it's done right, IWAY can and does beat most Guilds that hold Halls all the time, and most R6+ PUGs.
If IWAY sucked, it wouldn't be the most popular build.
But I see what you're saying, IWAY will not beat super top-of-the-line Guilds unless they screw something up. But then again, that vast majority of players in Tombs aren't running anything that can stop a good IWAY party, so it's kind of a moot point.

That's the thing. Alot of teams cannot beat iway, as they don't know how (I don't know how they don't know....). But IWAY won't hold halls against a team with half a brain. It doesn't take a genius to realise that a team with no monks can't heal it's ghostly hero when it's trying to cap the alter.

Which is my point exactly.
More good teams playing in tombs = less IWAY
When we run our heavily modded version of IWAY (with no I Will Avenge You as I said) we frequently make it all the way to the halls only to be defeated seconds before we win because we can't heal the hero. Unfortunatly, getting so close and losing is only making the guild want to keep trying. We need to be defeated before the last few maps before I could ever convince the rest of the guild to stop running the build.

my team actually did. since ppl died in the altar. our taint necro put a well of profane and the order necro put a helaing seed. the hero will then get atked and we will heal of him. not bad cause we killed them as soon as the ghost lost the heal of profane.

PVP in thsi game has become a joke. when u can take 4 premade paladins and go on a 25-0 flawless streak in arenas its a joke. when you can take a IWAY build in tombs and within a week (yes a guildmate has done it) get to r6, tombs is a joke. Im currently having more fun running around in pve again than doing any form of pvp at the current time

If all your guild wants to run is IWAY, i say leave it and join a different one. I know this isn't as easy as it sounds (finding a good, fun PvP guild) but in time, you will join one and will be asking yourself, "Why didn't I leave earlier?" ^^

I would start thinking about other solutions, because that is not likely to happen.
As the GvG season comes closer to its end the good guilds are mainly only concerned with GvGing. Besides, tombs are way too boring since 90% of the teams are iway (yawn, so fun to constantly keep fighting the same build over and over and over), 5% random noobway/henchway, and only 5% run real builds that are actually fun to fight against.
As to playing iway, everyone is chosing themselves whether their aim in GW PvP is to grind fame to have an emote to show off, or to play various builds, various roles and actually LEARN something while doing it. People chose different things, and who's to say what is right ... if you want to play different builds, join a guild that considers iwaying to be below their level?
It might be hard though, I have even seen people from Prav and aB in iway PUGs ...

You forget the best form of PvP there's in Guild Wars, GvG. Now that's PvP. No IWAY teams, and once you get a decent rank, you start facing guilds that are actually good. It's pretty entertaining once you have a good challenge. Tombs are a joke right now, teams are just too stupid. If you want a good challenge, go play GvG. Don't say ALL of the PvP in the game is a joke, because GvG is not.

I see Prav guys and others in top guilds in tombs PUG's.
Tombs is fun, I don't know why you would say it isn't. Have fun running tricky builds, it's challenging.
Playing IWAY repeatedly would destroy the tombs experience for you, but playing against IWAY is a good warm-up for your build and your team-mates

we haven't bothered to play tombs seriously for a long time, to be honest. we still end up holding ~8 times when we do go tho, unless we're testing stuff out.
