Monstrous Eye, No reason - ten times the price?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but last week "Monstrous Eye" was one of these rare materials that was absolutely useless.
Now one costs around 1k?
Is this some form of collective insanity that has befallen the community.
Can you salve them for Ektos or something??

No they just go up by Speculators.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speculators
it has always been that high for a number of months; maybe 5 or 6 months.
Ekto meaning Ectoplasm, no they dont salvage.
No crafting item salvages.

Word has it that Assasins can use them to charm the rabbit in pre-searing, at which time it transforms into a huge dragon thats lays ecto instead of eggs.

maybe they figured that in the kindom of the blind, the one-monstrous-eyed is king.
But somehow I doubt that you will be able to build a "Beholder" from D&D at the Genetecist, a speculated new Chapter 2 trader.
Still, hard to believe that someone would actually go out and spend money on such "hunches"

Monsterous Eyes are needed to activate the Gwen quest in Underworld, along with Monsterous claws.

I don't know about anyone else but I've started collecting them ever since I got a drop of one. They're kinda cute.
I've got 10 at the moment and will stop when I get 250. Twicky Kid, I don't suppose you want to sell your 20 for 1K each? PM if so.

This has already been said, but in different words
Some people think that eventually they're going to release something that uses the monstrous items, like new armor or something, then they are going to be as valuable as ectos, obsidians or shards. So they are hording up on them now while they're still cheap, to sell back later once there worth a crazy amount.
Then they'll be rediculously rich for almost no work or cost.

But they could just end up being like steel and parchments just cheap common rare materials that are easy to get, and so the price will drop.
No way to know untill there is a use for them.

only thing about these items is that they are extremely hard to find. any monster on the game can drop them at random. no certian place to farm.
when they will be used if its a high quantity needed they will be worth quite a bit but if anything they will spike when they are finally used. either way you still make a profit.

If they are ever used, IMHO there will be a place to farm them. I can't see A.Net creating a use for something like this and leaving their drop rate at the current level.
Once that occurs the price will drop like crazy. I hadn't realised their price used to be 100g, which sounds more reasonable, maybe I better sell 9 of my 10 now
