1) Right-click the Guild Wars icon.
2) Select 'Properties'.
3) Select the 'Shortcut' tab.
4) In the 'Target' field...
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password=*****
where ***** is your password.
Of course, make sure the path is correct, which it should be there already. You only need to add a space, then '-password=*****'.
Sorry about your luck. Anet should address this. Maybe you should start a support group website for people with lost accounts? (totally serious)

Not sure if you can have multiple accounts on one email address, but if you could, just create another shortcut with the different parameters.
Oh, and that would be a good mod to the game. A drop down menu for multiple account email addresses. Since I dont/wont have more than one account, I'll let someone else suggest it.

your email address is your user name, so I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have them tied to one address. How would it know which account you want to log in to?

Actually, it's not impossible, just silly. For example, if you bought the game, installed it, entered your email tied to the CD key, etc....then found out you wanted to have the emotes "aura" that can only be gotten from the collectors edition. You can buy the collectors edition, and tie the new cd key to the existing email address. Your old account will now have the collector's edition bonus (aura). Basically, you've thrown away your old CD key for the new one, but maintained all of your "stuff". I believe the old cd key is still tied to your old account, so you can't even reuse it.
But it is possible.

Awesome tip. Thanks a lot for posting it lol.
Anyway good luck man, and if ANet does nothing, we should start a petition or something because that is complete bull.

Semi-true, if you add a CD key as in your above example, both keys are tied into that account, the CE one being added onto the prior one so that both CD keys apply, and if you think about it, how is Chpt 2 going to get added to your existing accounts unless the CD key is added to it(meaning that all CD keys apply and exist as valid for that account). You can in reverse, I think, remove a CD key that you've added in this manner if you wanted to go back to the non-CE version.
Personally I don't think your account has been deleted, and if it was keylogged and the e-mail address changed, then the change notice would have gone to the new e-mail address(not the old one as all you are getting is a notice that the e-mail address has been changed, not requesting a confirmation that you want to change the address).
You state that the characters on that account still show up on the guild list, which seems to me to indicate that the account does still exist and that it has been stolen(why someone who stole an account would remain in the guild is a mystery so that doesn't make any sense), or maybe someone maliciously reported that account(no, you would have received an e-mail if it had been banned for any period of time).

wait... i just need to ask.. is this problem where you just lose your accounts and characters randomly?
From reading this thread, it seem that some people experience this at least once or twice. So is there anything we can do to keep our characters and accounts from being deleted? Or should A-Net do something on their server-end to protect our account?

I would advise changing the passwords on your other accounts if something has happened I wouldn't want to risk anything happening to your other accounts (whether you decide to still play the game or not). The situation sounds strange, that it just 'vanished' as you say. I noticed Gaile Gray was viewing this thread earlier, yet I see no response here that would suggest as such. Hopefully, she has informed them of the situation and is taken the necessary steps to correct the problem.

I been playing Guild Wars for 6 months and hope that my account wouldn't "vanished" like this. And i wonder why Gaile Gray didn't post anything to this thread to ensure the community that they will try and to something instead of what some of you got from them... that they can't do anything but you need to restart your characters.
Do you think A-Net got the skills to pull your characters (or what remain of them) from the database?

But.. (I'm being dumb at this) look at WoW or other games where you have to store your characters into servers. You never lose your accounts and stuffs that you owned (Unless i'm wrong). Maybe there a glitch within A-Net's servers so that it delete or remove your characters by random?
Anyone here who played WoW or other MMORPG experienced this type of problems?

......What's really puzzled me the most about this story is the fact that... The OP decided to post about his story on at least 2 forums instead of just contact arenanet support to get your account(s) back.
As if any of us COULD do anything about this...

The account could have been compromised by a keylogger on any PC used to access GW or e-mail. Even if no ANET change-of-address e-mail was ever seen by the OP, it could have been deleted by a hacker who gained access to the user's e-mail account via remote. Either way, there's not enough details present to figure out what happened, other than the fact that the account still exists with a new e-mail address.

Accounts don't just disappear, guys. There are reasons that they suddenly don't work. Usually they've been stolen through a variety of means, none of which are related to the game servers. How can I say this so confidently? Because we have detailed records on each and every account, and were someone able to steal acoRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs from us -- not from a player but from us as a company -- we'd know it immediately.
For individual account thefts or those accounts rendered mysteriously inaccessible, the player needs to contact Support, and needs to provide as much information as possible, including user name, pervious user name if any, the Access Key, etc. (We don't need/want the password.) We can do a search and find out exactly who has the account and then rectify the situation, if it is warranted.
But be warned that accounts purchased from 3rd parties (individual players, auction sites, etc) are greatly as risk of being "stolen." If there is dispute about ownership, the CD key will help us learn the rightful owner, but accounts sold to/through a 3rd party may be impossible for us to retrieve, because we're not able to arbitrate such secondary market sales. Accounts purchased from retailers or from PlayNC are quite easy for us to retrieve.
We help players every day, and give ernest effort to giving the best possible customer service to each individual.

I type my passwords daily for two accounts since May. Never had any problems. Keep your spyware softwares updated, scan at least weekly, use firewall and DO NOT use any illegal hacks. That way you can't get keyloggers and you will be safe. Also never give your password to anyone.

Something that confuses me..
So the keylogger can see your password easiely enough, but how do they get your e-mail address (as it just comes up anyway, so you dont type it in)?

A few days ago I was doing a mission with some newer players, and we got to talking about how much gold we had. It turned out I had like 100 times the amount any of the others had, so I gave one of them 10k to help him out. He said he'd pay me back soon enough. Then he asked for a bit more money, and I gave it to him (I'm too generous...). He told me he'd pay me two ecto sometime.
So today, he messages me and says his account was 'hacked'. First thing I think is that he's just an asshole who either wants more money or wants an excuse to not pay me back. I even asked him if he was just using it as an excuse. But soon enough I believed him... He told me his armor was gone, all his characters were deleted (except for one), and he was missing some items. He also told me he was out of his guid, and was the leader of a new guild called "Player Traders Association" (or something similar).
I'm actually convinced he's telling the truth. I asked him a bunch of questions like "Does anyone know your password?" and "Have you downloaded any mods or bots?", and he said no.
This post probably isn't very important, but I felt like sharing after reading this thread. I kind of feel bad for the guy, assuming he's not lying.
