Dwayna and Gwenth quests...
Has it occured to anyone else that the items you get from the quests might prove to be good things to have when the big event happens? How else are you supposed to choose sides if not by having the item from the quest of the god of your choice?
I think people selling the gingerbread shields, etc, may soon (eight days) regret it.

The Focus is useless, it just is, though the shield might have a use in a very specific build, since it has no requirements, but I don't think so. Maybe some people will buy them for a nice amount later on, but no, they're not going to go beserk like the HoD Sword or something.
They'll come back, everyone has them, noone needs them. Seems obvious to me.

The shields/focus have a sentamental value with me you can't put a price on a gingerbread shield. I mean lets think of some reasons to use this,
1. Your trapped on a mountain with no food, what do you do? Eat yor shield.
2. Some boss out there somewhere is immune to magic/weapons/smite, what do you do? Shove some gingerbread down his throat. He obviously has a weakness to sugar.
3. Some guy is pissing you off, how priceless would it be to say you owned a guy with a gingerbread shield? He would be crying for months.
3 reasons to keep your gingerbread shield/focus item
EDIT:
Candycane weapons? meh.
the one and only reason:
Some guy pisses you off (again), what do you do? SHOVE THAT CANDYCANE SWORD UP HIS @$$ SO FAR HE WON'T BE WALKING FOR A MONTH!
I rest my case

Hey Look! There goes the point!
I think they just might possibly be needed for the Wintersday event. Although each quest gives the same focus, the shields are different and might, repeat might be used to tell the gods or their representatives whose side you're on.
The whole event appears to be "A" vs "B", and so far the shields from the quests are the only way to 'take sides'.
Just a thought. I won't be selling mine.

The Candysmith actually says something like 'You'll need one for the battle.' I'm thinking that there's going to be some kind of fight we can do, and we choose sides, Grenth or Dwayna, and take our weapons into the fight.

If they had done this earlier then my group wouldn't have had to nuke the ranger's moa bird. The ele is still in therapy.

I don't think that you will have to have the quest rewards, simply because one requires you to have Droks, the other has ToA, these are advanced cities, I think what will happen is every couple of hours, like the Mad King, the 2 gods pop in and we all dod a big pvp. they might have a minimum armor req, so I probably will have to go to droks for mine, but we'll see

I think that would be a silly way to decide it in my opinion. Think about it, most people are going to do both the quests simply for the experience and the items so they will have both versions of the shield. I'd like it if it was just simply a huge vision of dwayna and grenth appearing in a city every few hours and people went up to them and they described what'll happen if they vote for them each respectively then the player makes a choice. Boring and easy, that's how I like it

It would be great if next time you could post in one of the other threads about the holidays. Seeing as how there's 4 of them. Thanks.
