No this game isn't about Loot unless you just PvP and don't have to think of 15 K armor or those expensive runes and materials on the flipside in PvE it definetly about loot and I don't have a lot of it.

I wholeheartedly disagree. This is one of the strengths of GW.

And one reason it is free.
People think they came up with instances as a new concept - Well maybe - but its also why we can have GW free - Servers that could support showing the thousands of players online all the time would cost more...
Thats actually why you pay for MMO's - for use of their Server space - not for your character.

This game was advertised as a game more about skill than items or time. Unfortunately, it has turned out this was a lie. This game is all about loot and time spent.

I think that should read 'The developers need to spend some time fixing the game INSTEAD or adding reskins of weapons or hosting a Christmas/Holiday event'. These are all diversions away from the problems.
Currently, one can take Drok's armor and elites in to the low level arena. Just do a search on this forum and you will see why this is bad.
After finishing the game and doing the Sorrow's Furnace quests, i still need to grind out some skill points. Either through faction or XP. I believe as many others that one should have all skills for those two classses unlocked at the completion of the game. No, I dont want UAS but i don't want to grind out the last few skill points. A quest for each non-elite skills or being liberal with the skill points would be helpful. I still need to farm faction to unlock my items/runes.
As we saw this past week, some items are broke or are still broke. Skills are about the only thing not broke and that isn't saying too much compared to the things it is held against.
Can Arenanet fix these? Yes. They just need to focus on getting the little things fixed first and then worry about a Christmas/Holiday event.

you are having fun doing your pvp thing not grinding.
as for the little fun events most people will have fun.
if it grinds your gears to see them avoid the areas where they are.

This trend exsists for one reason, people are materialistic morons...
Ive managed to beat the game twice without farming or buying expencive armor or items. Infact when i beat the game i was still wearing LA armor...
While items are nice they are not the main focus of the game, when i feel like finding a rad item i normaly play d2

To some people, this game is about loot and to others it isn't.
I'm too busy with working my way through the PvE story and enjoying it. Farming for rare, fantastic items or to make loads of gold isn't the reason why or how I play GW.
The story itself is quite linear, it's pretty easy to follow. And if I need to know something about PvE, it's more-than-likely, it can be found with a simple search on this site - so there isn't very much for me to ask or discuss.
If people enjoy and want to farm for rare items, and to make money then that's up to them. What they do don't really affect my progress through the story. The only thing that does get on my nerves is the constant spamming of Local chat channel by people with loads of things to sell or wanting to buy things. Asking them to use the Trade channel is a waste of time as they're too busy spamming their wares, or too selfish to notice such request. Switching off Local chat is a possible way for me to avoid the trade spams, but that would mean missing out on some decent non-trade talk.
In-game, if loot is your only objective in GW then please have some consideration for those who have a different aim. Use the Trade channel, it's what it's there for.

The game is about skills, the players are about loot and it has nothing to do with ANet. Its a community probelm, a sort of cyber-peer pressure to keep up with the Jones. Latest example is those icy dragon swords.

anet had do their job well,
some ppl enjoy looting the best shit outthere, some ppl enjoy pvp.
if one feel unconfortable just becoz other ppl like to farm, then i think he/she need to learn how to "enjoy" a game.

Cliche, we've heard that before.
The instanced deal with the game makes it unreal and empty. A whole world and it's not even populated.

Nono, that's "GUNK" ... but close enough
And I, for one, love instance ... no more lines at certain monsters, running into idiots that steal your kills, not having to hear "haha you suck" when you die if you're by yourself or with hench. If it's the social interaction you like, take a group out with you or stay in town!
Honestly ... like you can carry on meaningful conversation with more than 6-8 people at a time ... puh-leeze.

Ive noticed a number of online games that offer esthetic ingame items for real money.
People will take any shortcut availauble to get what they are told is a special item, virtual or whatever.
There is something there in the minds of gamers that needs to be addressed in all future games as this is the reality of what well happen in most cases.
Id agree that this game is not focuses for treasure hunting. But because it does exsist in its own fashion, some will play for that.
Then to them, this game is about loot.
I must admit, even though Im not trying to get fissure armor and only use collectors items, I wish I could have better. Im just to lazy to work for it when something less appealing works just as well most of the time.
Ive got my own ideas of what would work in GWs in the case of whats gone wrong. But, I just hope the developers are working towards a solution that benifits a majority of their players.

Nobody else here wants what you want. There is no "we". The whole point of the game is to be instanced, you shouldn't have bought the game if you wanted it to be another Knight Online or Everquest.
The last thing we need is 15 people standing on the spawning point of every stone summit boss and blowing them up instantly as they spawn.
Why do you come to this thread to complain? Its about why people talk about money so often and farming, not ideas of how to 'fix' the game.
--------
Anyway, this whole farming binge was going on with people before they beat the game and completed most of the content. I remember around the time the game came out there were like level 14 W/mo solo farming etons around Kryta.
Its was probably just feedback from the slew of other MMORPGs that required you to grind for hour on end on a bunch of rats as opposed to doing missions and quests for that expirience and that money. Games like Diablo made them long for U83rl3W7 constantly.
GW is MMORPG rehab
