Many familiar names past the posts here, been a nice trip for me. Laughs from my side when a name was called, only a few posts later to be responded to with 'Who?'. Poor Kago....
However I can't believe Ensign was not mentioned in 5 pages of this thread... That is quite disturbing imho.
Also, to add another PvE player to the otherwise (logicly) much PvP oriented list, Miss Temptress.

I've played with Grom Doombringer, World Dictator, Natures Renewal, Miss Air Jordan, Power Of My Ranger and many others. While there are people who can't stand them, you can't argue with the fact that their builds usually have potential and often hold HoH. Having your name announced to all of GW is the closest any player will get to being famous. It's the only reason I even know who the hell "I Sell Sigils PST" is/was. (I didn't PvP back in those days. Was working through PvE.)

Hey Makkert, time for you to get some (new?) glasses there mate (hehe j/k!), Siliconwafer mentioned Ensign way back on page 3 of the thread Here's a partial quote:

No, I've heard Lulu mentioned on other forums too.
And sure you can be infamous- in an anonymous sort of way.

O, just remembered, NYPD was famous back in the day. One of the first to get fow armor and his combination of eternal shield and chaos axe with it in the pics looked nice. His pic if often used as an example of female warrior fow armor. NYPD is also on guildwiki.org in the armor pics.

Mister Bongo? Famous? I never knew that.
A few months ago when I was in a good guild, he and my leader were friends. But then some of us went in a group into Sorrow's Furnace, and he started calling us all noobs and was getting killed. He then seemed to become obsessed with weapons, saying everyone was noobs because they didn't have good weapons. A few weeks later we met him in LA randomly and he was calling us noobs because we had bad weapons. He said his guild wanted a GvG with us, but we never got round to it.
So...has he changed? Is he a PvPer? Is he well-ranked? I'm just wondering really how he managed to become famous.

Ummm, Golden B U L L E T, the leader of my former guild? He only got together FOW armour about 1 month or so ago, so I can't say that he was one of the first at all.
BTW, he plays WoW now

And why does everyone think LuLu is a guy?

Everyone simply assumes if you're good at PvP, you're a guy. Maybe people who don't know for sure shouldn't be saying either way which gender someone is. I've seen Lulu's picture and have spoken to people who've been on vent with her and confirm that Lulu is a girl.
What makes me laugh is how short the "famous" list is, yet name changes won't be implemented because it would be too hard to keep track of scammers . I've seen Kago in Marhan's Grotto quite often, and know Lulu only by name (because of the HoH announcements). I've also seen a "Dark Queen" so-and-so (possibly the rper mentioned earlier in the thread) that was practically mocking people for giving so much attention to Gaile when she "isn't even a queen". And rpers wonder why they get so much flak.

I guess I do...
Well, good to see I wasn't the first to mention CxE then.
As for Ian Boyd, his spirit will never die in the GuildWars community probably. Just like Ian Boyd when he played/plays GuildWars.
Did you know he once soloed 8 of the devs in a 8v1? He used his quick feetwork to daze them by moving in circles and wearing Rainbow Armor to blind them, so they were no match for the wit of Boyd. No one has a recording of this glorious happening, because the devs are still to ashamed. That, and observermode wasn't implemented yet.

Last time I spoke to him on vent he was a guy... although it was a while ago now, maybe he had that operation he was talking about.

I don't think its possible with this game to be "famous". And if you want to try to be up there, just be nice with people get to know them. Know the economy, know the price changes, don't spam. Establish yourself with a good guild and overall post a lot on forums (you getting the picture yet?)
I kept myself active since WPE (as with most everyone here I rekon) so as long as you have a small group of people, you can expand that small group into a larger one.....yes I am crazy...
Then again, they don't call me the Mayor of Lion's Arch for anything lol!

I've heard from my more pvp oriented guildies things like 'oh no! This or that guy is in their team! We're going to lose!' One of the names that comes to mind would be heavy tengu armor or signet of humility, just because their names are easy to remember, but I suppose a lot of the higher ranked players that stick around int 1 a lot all kinda know each other.
