sounds like that if people in the future didnt buy chap 2 and only got chap 3, they wont be able to fuse chap 2 classes with chap 3 classes.
One thing do worry me though... eventually we get so many classes, tomb and the like going to go GLF **/**... the chance of you finding that PUG going to be quite slim.
Good thing they did the alliance faction thing, shouldnt have trouble when there are like 50 guilds in the same alliance.
"GLF **/**"
"ok come to tomb int d3."
One more thing... the guild hall with green rooft etc... the surface of the wall arent very asian ^^;

i don't see how PvP is more boring than playing vs. simple, predictable, programmed enemies.

Will one faction dominate?
- most likely.
Will the topguilds call the shots?
- doubtfull. its probably to much PvE for them to want to control long term, and they are with few against the masses of PvE guilds.
New FoW/ UW?
- yeah, it sounds like a Worlds at War at a different (non geographical) level.
Interesting?
- you bet ya!
Large 32 v 32?
- doubtfull...but else I don't see how alliances matter elsewise....Some a clue?

I really hope they get their heads outta you-know-where so they don't lose people who love the game but are sick and tired of these inane limits.

That's been my experience in every type of game that does this so we'll see how it plays out. Maybe I've been too absorbed with the new classes, but do we know the answer to the following?
Can each of our characters on an account be in a different faction?
Once chosing a faction can a character ever change?
I'm more interested in seeing the content and not being restricted to portions of the world for good or rarely seen - I've already played that game through other MMOs. Further then you have issues like overfarmed items from one faction being sold to the other as it creates an odd supply/demand across enemy lines. I hope they're careful with the implementation of it.
I imagine since I'd like to play with my wife/IRL friends we need to be on the same page for faction as well. Hmmm. Guess I better stop trying to figure out my new chars and builds and dig into more of this warring lands stuff...

I may be having an Auburn moment and missing the obvious, but a few things leapt out at me. This is'nt a gripe/moan etc etc but an honest and open request for info.
It does read like guild alliances will be able to control sections of the game map, and obtain benefits from doing so.
Some clarification on how it will work would be hugely appreciated, as people(esp Guild Leaders) will want to plan now not wait til they get the shrinkwrap off
Now if it's the faction that holds a city/area that not too bad(two way favour?, every player in that faction will be able to gain the benefits.
One Question tho:
1. What happens if one faction dominates the world map in the same way as America did with favour for over four months. Will steps be taken to ensure this does not happen again?
2. Will players from different factions be able to meet up and play together in PvE, in parties or even as Guilds?
But if it's an alliance of guilds that holds an area then that opens a whole can of worms:
The first question I have on this is:
1. Will these areas be PvE also? I.e will there be a PvP version where control ebbs and flows but the PvE version is unaffected by what happens in the PvP version?
2. If I dont participate in the PvP version do I get the same benefits in PvE as tho I held a region with my Guild?
Now if this PvP version affects what PvE people see and do then the following would be very useful to know.
1. Whats to stop an uber alliance of Guilds Camping the most profitable areas(imagine the top 4 guilds in EU, Korea and America teaming up) . Or will cities/areas offer the same stuff thus making who controls it a moot point apart from bragging rights.
2. What about the little guy? People in small, PvE or with no guild at all are they going to be screwed? (e.g can't access Guild Alliance areas ever, having to pay full price all the time etc)
3. How does this gameplay meet the statement that "you wont need to touch PvP with a bargepole" Surely if you want the cheapest stuff, from the best areas you will need to ally with a guild that holds them which means PvP
I can see lots of internal struggles within Guilds over this. So it would really help if we could get some clarification
Thanks
Shan

These are good questions.
The regional issues with favor, the elitist issues with rank and the trails of casual gamers finding other players to complement there playing style for hours before giving up are some of the still standing issues that plague the game.
As excited as I am with all the new stuff, I hope they address this current stuff as well. And I hope they don’t create a system in where on limits imposed on the players through factions doesn’t create division amongst the players in a permanent fashion.

Interesting...the Ritualist sounds like a MM specialist. I wonder if this will reduce the value of the current MM role? It WOULD be nice to jump in a PUG for SF farming without a 95% chance there is going to be two necros...
I'm definitely stoked for the new release; and to think they will be bringing out 2 new character per expansion in the future! That's really going to make things crazy in GvG and Tombs. I wonder if they'll expand from 8v8 to 16v16 (or 32v32!!)
I think I'll add that as a thread in sardelac's forum...
