I am hoping that they will give us the UAS option for this event like they did before. Otherwise it would suck for people who have to create new accounts and not have any unlocked skills to play with

I dont think they are..at least it doesnt sound like it. It would be nice for a UAS (unlock all skills) for assassin and ritualist so we can try out all the skills, but then they may be testing out core skills first by this event. then with subsuquent events add more after previous skills have been adjusted.
We will find out friday.

with UAS they wouldnt let you keep them so what is your problem?
and here is why they will NEVER do something like UAS again.
official comment on UAS for the event

But given the complete misunderstanding that many felt (or claimed ) and the unnatural and unintended expectation that it built, I never want to see the letters U. A. an S in the same combination ever again. Unless I decide to join the United Alliance of Sopranos. But of course, that's just me.

What if you want to combo the assasin or ritualist class with the old classes and having to create a new account (say you ran out of char slot, etc.)? And seeing that it is a PvP event only, how would you unlock the skills for the new classes anyway? Current GW players may have free faction points to unlock the new skills, but what about the new people playing the game for the first time? Play without any skill in the skillbar until you receive enough faction?

If I delete a character to make a Ritualist or an Assassin, will my character be replaced at the end of the Guild Wars: Factions Global Free-For-All PvP Weekend?
No, your character will not be replaced at the end of the event. So be sure you choose carefully and that you are aware that the characters that you create with the Ritualist or Assassin as a part of the profession setup will need to be recreated or “rerolled” after the event.
|
wonder what they meant by "rerolled".

"Rerolled" is a term dating back to pen'n'paper RPGs, where you had to roll dice to determine your character's stats. For GW it just means remaking your character stats.

i hope A-net made some assasin and ritualist template's so even new players without 10K faction can enjoy these without first playing for 2 hours to get 8 skills

Agreed. Bare bone skill set is nice to try out, but having pre set builds may help players understand what works and how it works.
Plus the whole unlocking with faction points...
I see possible threads complaining about Faction rates starting up sometime on Friday..

I haven't seen this up anywhere yet, so I thought I'd share..

Interview with Jeff Strain concerning Factions. Theres also a pic of a Ritualist I haven't seen before on these forums. I haven't listened to the interview yet as I don't have time at the moment, so I'm not sure if it contains anything we don't already know.
