60% PvE
20% PvP
20% Idling

PvE never seems to bore me, the new UW added to that + the fact that i never farm, just do missions alot (have a service to provide income). I count selling / buying as PvE activity.

PvP has increased a bit lately, but i find it easier to get bad PvP experiences then bad PvE ones, so I only did that alot for about a week (did it 100% then). I count looking for a PvP party as PvP time.

Idling and ingame chatting is a favorite of mine, especially late at nigth when the topics can be about anything and alot of ppl are round to chat with. Sorta like a 3d IRC

PvE 99% Here too & almost never play PvP!

Coming from an unreal & unreal tournament 99/2003/4 background
playing guildwars feels sooo slow in comparison even though they
are completely different types of game it just doesnt feel right.

I'll probably give PvP another chance and see how it goes though!

I would have to say that up to a month ago or even less I was 100% PvE.
You can say I'm a PvE person, if I want to play against people I would just load UT2004 or Quake.

But these days I see myself also playing PvP so I would say 80% PvE and 20% PvP give or take.

Always and forever, 100% PvE, have absolutely no interest in PvP(Just like joining a guild). If I could turn off chat message about "So and So has won favor for Blah blah blah", I would. Id rather just see messages from standard channels(Oficially requesting that option ).

now 95% pvp
5% pve

i used to play a lot of pve. i have 5 lvl 20 chars and i stopped doing pve when i found the last ecto and shard i needed for a fow set. i realised that the time i put in the pve is not worth the rewards.

i'm into pvp now, grinding my way to r6. yes grinding, even in pvp. i wouldn't do it but the only ppl that i saw creating interesting builds and following simple rules such as 'call-attak target' are r6+ and they don't accepts lower ranks.
i thought it will all be good when i hit r3 but i was wrong. r3 is almost the same as random unranked pug. the only difference is that they have more common sense such as bringing rez sig and not attaking/using skills through backfire or spiteful spirit.
wow, amazing improvement...

Ranked IWAY = Unranked IWAY

Sorry, PvP is the one gametype where grinding through doesn't make you stronger, assuming you already have the skills for you builds.

Which brings up the UAX debate, which I won't get into.

This thread truly astonishes me.

I can't imagine playing pve any longer and thought that of the two PvE would die out fast. I don't think I've ever been more wrong.

The part that makes me wonder is that there isn't anything left to do after the missions.

I haven't played much PvE for a long while but in no more than a few months I'd played through all missions on 3 characters, my last one with only hencemen. I've gone back and capped everything and done them all at least one more for that, and I've helped a lot of guild mates and friends through missions.

I've done Thunderhead Keep at least 50 times.

I just can't fathom what all the purely PvE players are doing. In my PvE time I unlocked every inch of the map from the northeast through the tar pits and down through the jungles and red dirt of the southwest.

The underworld and FoW are a bit better but still not remotely challenging, and not at all changing.

I love RP and have done it in many games but how do you RP something you've done so many times you can repeat the NPC text you're coming up on.

PvP is pretty straight forward and simple but there is developing, or at least changing strategy involved.

I'm not complaining or criticizing, I hope it doesn't sound like that. I'm just astonished at the sheer numbers of purely pve players.

All the PvE I do is for the sole reason of making my PvP characters better and/or getting a special item like the pumpkin head.

Some of us arent interested in PvP, for various reasons. Myself, I just cant see the appeal, Ive been told, "Oh, its more challenging", or other things, but it holds about as much appeal to me as cutting off my arm(slowly) with a rusty penknife.... PvP in RPGs... I dont get it.

That sounds like me... I just don't get it. I've tried it... was so bored I apologized to the group and logged as soon as we were done. I've tried PvP in many online games and found the same results... dull. I've watched a few matches in the observe mode and after watching the poor monks and mesmers get "spiked" for the tenth time I thought to myself "This is fun?". I mean, when it happens from a AI creature and you get killed like that, it's rather funny (too me anyway) but for players to do that time after time...
It's just not for me it would seem.
So, 100% PvE still stands.

RIght now, it's 98% PvE, 2% PvP. The last time I got a metric buttload of faction was during the Wintersday snowball fights.

I liked PvPing with my guild in Guild Battles, but I my last one went inactive, and I haven't found one I've really liked since.
