I am admittedly not giving this much thought at the moment but I don't see why this wouldn't work:
The remaining party members could be allowed to vote for the griefer to be made to drop the quest item. It just drops to the ground. Or it gets randomly transfered to another person. No further harm done.
Since holding a quest item is more of a burden and in no way gives any benefit, this should work just fine, as oposed to kick voting, where seven people could group up and kick anyone who happened to had an ecto drop.

I don't think so, but, I think #259 of Computer Gaming World will be on sale at newstands in the US within a few days.
Edit: You can only subscribe to CGW @ Amazon.com (you would recieve February's issue later than you would waiting for it to hit newstands)

I'm pretty sure you can order it from some website alhtough i cant garantee the safeness of those websites. Amazon only seem to have 1 year subsciptions for the magazine though.
I love how you can read on the front page of the magazine:

Why not? Some believe in Allah, or God, or Buddha (which are to varying degrees more or less the same entity).
Also, people in the same country have totally different views on the same issue, like whether I or you are the product of Darwinian evolution, or God, or the Flying Spaghetty Monster (a good theory IMHO, google it up )
I don't think it would be far fetched that one GW continent, race or ethnic group has a totally different belief system. Who knows, maybe we get to fight Flying Spaghetti Monster in the final Cantha mission?

And for what items?
The items will look different, but they will still be 15-28 bows and +10 energy focus items and stuff.
Congratulations, you have uncovered my personal dilemma with Guild Wars Chapter 2 (...3 ...4 ...5 ...6) - why would I keep buying expansions if my main enjoyment is PvE, and leveling up, and gathering new exciting and above all more powerful items?
I admit it, I am a Diablo packrat at heart, I don't care if all the environments look basically the same as long as I can satisfy my perverted desire for "just one more level! just one better item!" that costed me so many nights sleep.
I will probably buy chapter 2 nevertheless. But I buy it because (I still think it must have) more character slots, and maybe controllable pets, and maybe a better merchant system (aka auctions). Experience improvements I still wait for, even for chapter 1. If it has all that, I'd buy it even if it had no otherwise new chapter 2 content in it!
But I doubt that new looks for existing items or a new chapter of a story will keep me fueled throughout the next five expansions.

I should definetly expect that. They have the streaming technology that makes it possible, they seem to have the server capacity and bandwidth, and they can stream one location of Cantha at a time whenever you visit it for the first time - so you don't even need to download a big blob of code like with *yuck* Steam.
As long as they don't overcharge my credit card and steal my money like Electronic Arts (end of personal rant), I shall definetly use such option.

Good point. How do we know that GW has more gods than the five? GW is polytheistic universe. Now reason why there can't be more gods which we don't know about. Or maybe there are only the five just there are different sects throughout the GW world.
Look at Christianity. How many denominations of Baptists are, for instance? Too many to count. That's not counting the rest of teh Protestant denominations, let alone the the different Catholic beliefs, let alone the Orthodox traditions. Yet they believe in the same G-d.

|
There is hidden option number 3: I was rather astomished myself, but when you buy Battlefield 2 Special Forces, the players without the expansion download a 200 megs patch and can see the new weapons, tools and effects. They can actually pick them up and use them.
So it could be, though I think unlikely, that chapter 1 only chars can see all the new stuff, just not aquire it.
Would be a good sales strategy though. I can see people spamming in the city already:
"help i bought flash dragn sword i cant equip it says need chapter 2 whatzzup?"

on the gods disccusion the current sects follow these gods
Us (that’s the players) and the forgotten (the forgotten where the caretakers of tyria till humans came) follow the five gods
White mantle follow the "new Gods" or as we know them the murrsatt
Charr worship the tytans (look a there burning statues)
Lych glinth and the alien thingy I don’t know
this is to the best of my knowledge
there could be other gods out there and I bet one of the missions is to attack the mursatt city in the jungle

ok, chapter 2 will have a lot of new content, but im sure that more than 70% will be directed PvP wise. I love to PvP its a great thing, why did they even bother to make a whole new asian territory if we are lvl 20, and we will kill mostly mosters betwen lvl 20-30 througth the whole PvE(which supposely is very big), i myslef think ill be a little bored. I will buy this game , but ive waited for soo long to get over lvl 20, alteast 30. This is all said from a true GuildWars fan.

Will there be better armor than previously?
Will there be more expensive armor than the current Fissure of Woe armor?
What levels will the monsters be in the new places?

Actually, the story only really has two parts that aren't directly connected: The first part is fighting in and exodus from Ascalon, while the second is the devoloping of the main story involving the White Mantle, the Lich, the Mursaat and so on. The enemies may change, but that's a result of getting deeper into what's really going on.
Which actually works well for cross-compatibility between the chapters - a Canthan hero visiting Lion's Arch may well volunteer to help with the undead situation and end up getting drawn into the main storyline, while a Canthan getting involved in the pre-Lion's Arch missions is more of a stretch. I wonder if they'll work it so that it goes the same way for heroes from Ascalon visiting Cantha?
And, for the record, I don't see the Forgotten as an enemy so much as an obstacle - their job is to make sure that the unworthy don't waste Dwayna and company's valuable time. In fact, I could see an Ascended character and a Forgotten getting together for a drink afterwards "Yeah, I heard you killed my clutchmate Ssthass. Nevermind, better that he die to you than to some unworthy. Congratulations, by the way." Unless of course they're still holding a grudge from being made redundant a millenia or so ago...

i wouldnt be surprised if 70+% was PVE.
a few more arenas to use and maybe a new mode or so for PVP but then what?
PVE will get areas and more and better quests and the auction house and more this and that and who knows what else.
figure the proportion of effort that is not PVP exclusive and do it again for chapter 2.
this is guess on my part but i have had official word that you will not be forced to PVP if you dont want to but the qualifier was
*your experience may be enhanced by doing so*
