Bring it on, all of ye. I'm not afraid.
If I feel like I'm missing out maybe I'll join with the Luxons, since they'll have more targets.

Heh, I like this quote, I don't know why but I can't help but snicker everytime I read it.
Back OT, Luxon vs Kurzicks is starting to sound a lot like Alliance vs Horde, and more towards Dark Elf(ugh, cut out all of the other alliance races and you still would have more than 2/3rds the population left) vs Horde than anything else. Upon hearing that Anet was going to introduce multiple factions in the game I was actually hoping that Anet would make 1 of them as unappealing as possible (ugly armor, ugly skins, make 'em part of a totalitarian regime) that way I can just sit back and not have to worry about idiots swarming that particular faction.

Actually, they sound like they could be Chaotic Good too.

Kurzicks sound more... Lawful Neutral or Evil. Maybe it was Good once, but it has decended into tyranny and persecution, like when the Vatican was running the inquisition all those centuries ago. I guess if you can bend the rules to your own advantage to rise to power... or maybe there's cool secret societies that teach secret arts... what treasures do the Kurzicks guard..?
|
Totally agree, I'd love it if they closely resembeled Lawful Neutral. A society that values laws over the concept of good/evil, a society that is shaped by its laws. Thats something I'd like to play.

Luxons sound way better. Does anyone know if Anet is gonna stop the America, Korea, Europe favor thing and switch to Luxons and Kurzicks? For example, ----- has won a battle in the Hall of Heroes and keeps the favor of the gods for the Luxons.

I would personally go Kurzicks so I could kill more noobs. Though of course I may join the neutral side if you can play like a mercenary.
"Monk selling servaces to highest bidder!"
Sounds like fun.

Kurzicks on account of the people. Most people are going to be kids and play on the coolest sounding side. It's obviously Luxons. But the Kurzicks have before hand thinking, logic, attunement with nature, etc... which really lures me to thier unique way of life.

When Anet stated that you can unlock new areas/things from each faction side.
I hope they have differentiated "pets" available or even "special" ones (ie. UW spiders) that are only tameable @ those areas.

All you people who say "I'm not religious, so I don't like Kurzicks", keep in mind that a) magic exists in the world, some of which is tied to a God(dess), b) giant statues of the gods are everywhere, defying physics with various nifty effects, c) places like the Underworld exist and can be visited. In a world where the gods *obviously* exist, pretty much everyone is going to be religious to some degree.
I'm an atheist, but if I saw some damn impressive proof of a deity's existence, I very well might become religious.
Anyway, I think i kind of prefer the Kurzicks at this point because they seem like a more serious, somber faction, and that appeals to me more than a bunch of vagabond nomadic pirates (cool though walking machines may be). A petrified forest sounds cool too. But I'll hold off on deciding until the game actually comes out.

Our guild has pretty much decided, and we will be siding with the Kurzicks. We prefer to be among a orderly, civilized, and stable people. It fits our guild theme much more accurately than that of the Luxons. We're centered around a goddess in the game, Lyssa, so being sided with a religiously devoted people would fit well.

probably old but new to me.
but. I dont know if anyone else has seen the concept art for factions. (just posted by a gurus member, provided by guildwars.com @ sections: Home > Community > Fansites > Kit.
From what I saw from the concept appearances of a Kurzickfemale and a Luxonmale.
Kurzicks are "goth-like" and Luxons are definitely nomads. (Dark vs. Light maybe? It's gonna be fun.)
Ive been swayed to: The Kurzicks.
/g'day.
