I heard on serveral occasions that people who EMOTE after a win, can have 40 fame removed from their account without warning if they are reported to GW. I talked to one guy(who was R9) who kept telling people in the group not to emote because that happen to him. I heard that if you say something that offends another person that fame is removed. I can understand if you say racial statements or sware, but I don't see why someone would care if they were beat by a R9 group.

Is this true?

I'm thinking "lol" on this one. Maybe if you got reported for being a jerk, but not an auto thing. What if you emote with "/clap" and say "gg"?

Ok, I guess that would make sense, seeing as how some people feel abused by that. Like them saying "ha ha, I'm better than you! /rank". I hate that.

Removing fame as a sanction for infamous behavior would be eminently fitting though. It would have to be a responsibly moderated thing of course, certainly not automatic. I'd love it if sore losers or ungracious winners spewing obscenities in chat got hit where it hurts them most. Of course, there'd have to be ever increasing penalties for repeat offenders.

Personally, I tell my group(even if im not leader) to not talk in all chat to bad talk the other team after winning. Or even responding to insults at us. To me it ruins the fun within the game and when that happens, I dont see the point in continuing to play the game. Spamming rank sure.. thats just a fun way to show your good.. To really say "hey! im better then you noob

"... To make you feel good about yourself... To give you a mental moral boost. But once they actually say it in all chat,Your gonna make the other people feel like crap which then = they r gonna insult youwhich then = it keeps going on and on and on.. Its very annoying..

On the other hand.. Bad talking can be a tactic with in the game. You are mentally messing with them.. Hopefully making them play sloppier, make them argue on a voice communication system, and just mess up the whole organization of the team.
A right thing to do? not imo...
A wrong thing to do? not imo...
Does it make fame go away... no way

In PvE I've hard arguements with people in a party, and then they'd run up to me and /rank emote.. For what reason? It kinda reminds me of cavemen banging clubs on the ground to try and scare the other one off. Showing off by rank is primative, but showing rank for proof is another story.

Hmm, -40 fame every time you say the word Noob, A good idea i say... cause then only Mature players will have Rank WOOT, and we get to knock out all those r3+ iway groups in the same hit AWESOME

Conversely Anet will award you free fame. Last month after getting flawless against an IWAY group I said something like "haha IWAY, time to get a new build kiddies" and 6 of them started whispering me saying they were going to report me, then they did, and Anet gave me an extra 50 fame for the win cause they hate IWAY too.
