All these talks about new races and pets are making me dizzy.....
Really, can we just have Charm Animal and Comfort Animal merged into one single skill? Most dedicated beastmasters want to see this done more than some silly killer bunny. Please, Gaile?
i thought he was morally oposed to it because it used animal's deaths to achieve a win?
I believe that's not how they designed Beast Mastery in the first place and that's why they add "skill disable" to prevent Necro from abusing pet's bodies.
Having said that, Gaile still has not mentioned how they can improve Beast Mastery. I refuse to believe BM is as "balanced" as they think. Has she ever tried it to compete with a pure BM build? It's decent but not competitive enough IMO.
Can Gaile talk about Assassin now? What's the next new Class???
PS: There should be at least one Character Slot for each class. 4 Slot is a joke.
Oh, no no! I never say "never." Honestly. In fact, if I were to make a bold prediction, on a personal and not official level, I might predict that someday we will be able to play as a member of a non-human race. I believe we will remain human for the next chapter. For the chapter after that, anything could happen!
If something like that ever happens it better be something along the lines of WoW (and I hate myself for saying that). The only way I can see different (two for instance) races working together is by separating the game into worlds (like WoW and those islands) that do not collide with each other in PvE until you reach a certain point in the game (Like HoH right now). Then only in PvP worlds can battle against each other for some sort of another HoH where one race has to overtake it from the other which results in favour for that particular race. Presumably current HoH can still exist for humans along that races HoH. Just a quick idea.. o_O
No. Only 7. Your designers gave us the outstanding ability to switch secondaries at will, so there's only a need for one for each primary + a pvp slot.
if they were to initially give more than like 5 slots, they would have to start charging a monthly fee :P
Because it means we would be taking up more space on their server and therefore they would need more bandwith. But I bet ArenaNet is on such a strict budget that an increase of more than 15% in bandwith will make them have to charge a monthly fee atm.
I bet they also have to bring tables from home to fill in the faculty cafeteria.

Not bandwidth, only storage space. You can only log in as a user at a given time.
And considering they keep track of stuff like how many times we kill a mob in a certain zone etc.. the storage space is a *moot* point. They are currently more than happ to burn space to SCREW *us*.
I think she was being silly. (Hope so anyway.) I would love 1 slot per primary character (so 6....8 with chapter 2). I play everything even tho my true love is a Ranger. I have put all 6 classes through the game and am now being forced to redo the ones I deleted earlier now that I have surrendered and bought a second account. I'm betting that we only get 1 more slot tho. It would suck but its better than nothing.
As far as allowing a PvP slot, having the PvP and PvE slots completely separate. You could toggle between PvP/E screens at sign on and hold 4 characters for each rather easily. I could definitely see the need for more storage space as well. Take the holidaze as an example. For Halloween and Wintersday, there were bunches of specific items that most people will want to hold on to, probably for quite a while. Possibly you could buy additional lockers at incremental rates. The first one is 100 gp, the second is 500 gp, etc. Or even having 'personal' and 'account' separate storages.
On the BM/CA comment for Rangers, I think it would make a certain amount of sense to combine these two. At the same time, it makes you decide if you want the healing/rez ability in leu of an attack skill as per a healing vs smiting monk.
I really do not understand all the whining about not enough slots. GW has got to be the least expensive game ever. Consider this, if you made the max of 4 characters and played them all through the PvE game (ignoring PvP), and it took 100 hours for each, that's 400 hours of playing. The game costs $50. So that means it costs 12.5 cents per hour of fun. Twelve pennies!
You could flip burgers at the local fast food joint for one hour ($5 per hour) and be able to buy 40 hours of gaming!

I agree with you. I'd like to see either one less or one more character slot only because i'm not a fan of even numbers. they never feel right for too long you know? But other then that, it is the most inexpseive game that offers so much it's not funny.
Though, I do want to see the Elementalist with the ability to Summon Elemental (X) (Earth, Fire, Air, Water.)
Go tameable Oakenhearts, Rabits, Aloe Seeds, Goyles!

If they ever started charging a monthly fee, I would just go play WOW instead. The PVE content is unlimited and this game is very linear in all PVE zones it gets boring. For free this isn't a bad game. But, for a fee, un uhh it's to me one of those passive type games to play every once in awhile, it doesn't have the flare of a full blown mmorpg. Too few levels, too few different stats on weapons, and really too few different weapons skins of any quality. EQ as much as I hate SOE has the best equipment, armor, content, huge world of any mmorpg out there. Too bad the sit and kill floozy in the same spot over and over in it suks so badly. I loved that world and content, but, I grew tired of the sit in one spot kill the same thing over and over again feature of the game.
This game on the other hand gets tiring "running around" killing the same thing over and over again for the teenie weenie loot they now give. lol Mobs every 10 ft apart, that's kindof a laugh too. It makes the zones seem massive, but, once you clear them out, you really can see how small they really are.
I think its sounds great the comming chapter 2 update, I wish the whole team all the best to make it work fine in the comming months.
But there is one thing which concerns me in the current GuildWars world and i hope you can tell me whether that is gonna change?
My concern is the following;
I love to play PvE and think its great to get that fantastic armor, beautiful looking weapon and try to get all the skills by doing the main and secundairy quests. However playing with a PvE character gives me a hughe disadvantage while playing PvP in Tombs or so.
I really think its unfair that i have save up to 50k for just 1 superior vigor (or 100k for a superior absorbtion for that mattter) while its fairly easy to obtain such an item with a pvp character.
Also that counts for the "uber" weapons. for me to obtain a max longbow with +15% while above 50 health, vampiric 5-1, health +30hp is a really expensive or longtime challenge while the pvp character again is gonna make that item fairly easy.
So while investing a long time in playing quests and try to follow the storyline etc etc gives me a penalty upon people who only play pvp. Instead of rewarding people who spend time to invest in both types of playing i get punished by having not enough cash and not beeing lucky finding a superior rune (While i got in fact more than enough pvpfaction to buy superiors vigors for the whole guild).
I think thats unfair because it basicly prevents pve characters to fairly fight against a pvp only.
for example; My guild primarily focusses on pve that means that if we all got a +13% weapon (because +15% is only for the rich or lucky) we already miss a total of 16% extra dmg to start with as a team against a full pvp team.
Ofcourse it all comes to tactics, team communication etc. etc. but i really think it should be a good thing if we all can start with the same basics to start with.
While I understand what you mean by the multiple combinations involving the 2nd profession. I think what most of us would like to see (including myself) a player slot for every primary profession. As of now you only have 4 & there are 6 professions in the game - soon to be 8 after adding the assasin and ritualist. Leave it up to the player to do the secondary profession quests and change it as he/she sees fit.
I'm hoping for some nice things to come in Chapter 2. I would certainly like to see alot more challenges. Guild Wars is an awesome game & it appears that it was designed to be more PVP/GVG instead of PVE, but I'm sure Anet has noticed how much players enjoy the PVE aspect of this game. What is lacking is content, not quality. I'd like to see more content in the next chapter. After you have maxed out players with all the elites, green weps, etc the PVE side becomes a little watered down... All you can do is farm or do PVP/GVG. Maybe add multiple grades of armor (Drox, Citadel, Grotto, Fissure) all had the same specs. More combination of skills. Perhaps a way a player can get "elitized" so he can carry 2 elites ? I guess what I am trying to say is keep it fresh b/c the PVE side is leaving players hungry.
Make no mistake GW is a GREAT GAME ! Just beef it up a lot , not a little...
