Nerf green items?
Maybe I'm unlucky, but the last 5 Oro runs I did, only 3 greens dropped overall.
And none were for me.

I say give green drops in pre-searing, let players have acsess to the best weapons for cheap, it simpley makes the game more acessible to more players. Look, this entire thread is essentialy based around the same idea that arguments for raising the level cap or nerfing (insert blank), this game is not for harcore players who have explored every knook and cranny. That is, there are generaly two kinds of gamers:
1) Those who are willing to give up hours and hours of their life
2) Those that play casually
This game was designed, and intended for the later. Green weapons are a perfect example of this. No one denies that it takes more time and effort to farm perfect mods for a perfect weapon skin, but since Anet wanted to make sure the game was for the casual gamer they gave acess to perfect (albiet unmodifiable) weapons. No longer does a person have to commit hours upon hours just to get a damn weapon; a fact that makes me want to play the game more. Look, go play WoW or EQ2 if you just HAVE to exist in enviroment where player commit 60+ hours a week, but the reason that I and many other players chose GW was the fact it didn't require me to give a large chunk of my life to enjoy. So a defenite non-signature from me.

Sorrow's Furnace is in the Southern Shiverpeaks region (Grenth's Footprint). The nearest outpost to it is Deldrimor War Camp, which is North East of Camp Rankor.

Once again I will say Guild Wars is about Guilds that have Wars!!! What does Guild mean? and What does War mean? (Look up in a dictionary for the uneducated or unknowledgeable). This game was built to be PvP oriented hence the title and the limited range of weapons and armor statistics (i.e. not one uber leet weapon or armor), and not PvE oriented. To be honest I think PvE is PvP's side quest for players that want to have different armors and weapon skins. If you want to whine or complain about items move yourself to World of Warcraft (you can discover worlds and uber leet weapons in the universe of Warcraft) and leave us non complaining Guild Wars players alone. I enjoy playing the game as it is and for what it is.
Regards

The state of PvE is not sad, Toll Booth Willie. Your friend Mark is sad. Why did he bother buying the game if he isn't going to play it? If your friend lacks patience and discipline to play the game as it was designed, i.e. doing the quests and missions, not getting run, acquiring better weapons when they are found as drops and acquiring better armor that matches where you are in the game, then he has to accept that he is going to be finished with the game very quickly.
Yes, it takes patience and discipline to not take up that offer to be run to Droks, to not take up that offer to be power leveled, to not take that offer to have a mission run for you or to be run to the next town. Its all up to how you play GW and how you want to play GW. If someone thinks the game is too easy or too short because of power levelling or running, that is their own fault; they chose to be powerlevelled or run. That is not a fault of GW or Anet.
To the poster that claims that once you have your Greens there is no reason to go to SF again, that is your opinion only, and not the general opinion of all GW players. I still find SF entertaining, and a good place to spend time with a group of friends. I return again and again, not because I need more greens but to help new friends in their search for greens. Its a good area, and I hope Anet comes up with similar ones in the future.

Yep, good point. IMO they should leave the green items for PvP only and make them highly available for pve chars. That means greens should not be allowed outside the arena's and such.
On the other hand, rare items such as perfect golds (pve only), should not be easily farmable. GW doesn't really offer much challenge in pve IMO and that's the reason why so many people are farmcrazy.
It's just too random where and when you get a nice perfect gold item. Sure we all know the places where they drop most likely, but it shouldn't just drop in any occasion. I mean there should be quests out there that are so hard that it becomes a real challenge to enter them. Meaning that you are unlikely to farm them with just a few peeps or do chest runs etc. It shouldn't be a lottery game.
The very rare items should be very hard to get. For instance; entering the UW or FoW, perhaps the first parts are easy as they are, but not rewarding you with rare drops and such. The further you progress, the harder it becomes, untill the game becomes so hard you think it's impossible to complete at all. But when you do, you should be rewarded with the best items available. I understand that with the current AI it's not going to happen because the quests always play in the same way, offering people certain tactics that will always work, a real disaster IMO, and it offers farmers a chance to succeed.
I say make ultra hard quests that reward you with ultra rare items. I myself are allready loosing my interest in playing GW because it's always the same and there really isn't a good reward system combined with difficulty.

I think IF they follow your advice and decrease the drop rates, then this will just force A LOT of people to eBay. In which btw, what they're trying to eliminate.

This is a stated illegal action within the game, they should take counter actions against those people not against the whole community.
Actually this is my only problem with Anet, who actually did a very good job with the game and it's support, but they tend to change the game at certain aspects to counter a few sad people but by doing so influence and change the game for the whole community.
I rather have a few sad people and an exciting and challenging game then a game that becomes so easy just to eliminate such actions as you describe.

Here's a simle question... who cares is someone else has cheap greens? How does it affect your gameplay?
If your only whine is about profit margins or farming... well, you're in the wrong game.

Well first he didn't buy the game I gave him one of my 3 accounts that I didn't use much.
Anyways, what mmo have you played where ppl don't help their friends/guildies/noobs? Even games where you don't know anyone, there are ppl around to help. I played SWG a few months back, the first day there I got invited to guild. Then they invited me to a hunting group for plvl (i didn't ask to be plvl). I hunted witht them many hours for a week straight and was no where near max lvl and I didn't have the best weapons/armor in game.
Fact is I make new character occasionally and it takes what, a couple days to be 20 (taking your time) and your done with pve (except capping) maybe a week if you were new to game. After that week the new player then goes to TOPK or SF and gets pretty much the best items you have within a few runs. The grinding/hunting/farming side of this game is pretty much non- existant now, which a lot of th PvE ppl liked. People still do it, but I can't figure out why. Let noobs have max dam/max mod armor and weps within 1 week of playing thats fine, just give the ones who have been here much longer something to do. I probably belong at more of a SWG/FF/WoW game now, but when the game came out (b4 greens) there was some PvE fun in getting nice drops.
