Vampric Weapons
Everyone overprices Vampric weapons like its 20k for a 5/1 Bow String
When in reality it doesnt add 5 damage it actually takes the 5 damage
out of your normal damage and turns it into Life Stealing.
Today i used my new Victos Blade and compared to my FDS and Flamberge
I was surprised to see the numbers from Victos doing less, when i realized it was doing the same but just taking the 3dmg into Life Stealing.
Oddly enough it seems to be different with bows. But i havent tested bows
yet so w/e.

From your point of view, you don't see the -3 damage on the enemy, but you do see a +3 on yourself. From the enemy's point of view, they take -3 (Life Stealing) in addition to the normal damage.
Also, it's more around 5-10k for vamp mods now. Kinda depressing, although it means I get good mods for cheap.

It ads the +3, but you are losing the fire mod...so depending on your enemy that might be why you are dealing less damage.

Where vampiric is most effective with a 5/1 bowstring, is as a support ranger... Not interrupt ranger... Something like Monk Rangers, or something like that.... thats when the +% enchanting bonus come in handy too but thats another subject...
I use a customized collectors Max dmg longbow With 5/1 Vampiric and spam barrage. That baby is really nice with large mobs from a distance. But obviously you switch to it when the opportunity arises. Otherwise your just trickling health away... Its not great... no. but not too many can argue that its not effective... The downside.... 5/1 strings are rare... I only ever FOUND 1 in the entire time playing the game... Lots of 3/1 and 2/1 but 4/1 and 5/1 are extremely rare to drop with a bow, AND even rarer to be able to salvage it...
ingy...

Sundering has the advantage of having no penaltys, but at the same time, the damage bonus is insignificant, with a 5-1 bow, 5 extra damage makes a nice difference vs tough targets

In pvp whatever reason you offer for sundering, Vampiring is/will always be better.

I'm not a big fan of Sundering either. It's either Vampiric or Furious for me, Sundering isn't that great, and FAR from worth the price people ask for it, which is insane. A Perfect Vampiric Bow String is pretty damn rare though, you won't find it often, hence the high pricing (which is getting less every day, I've seen it sell for 7K!).

That's because idiots think sundering is better than vampiric for some retarded reason.

Elswyth's Recurve Bow comes with a 5:1 vampiric string. I can't understand why the recurve doesn't have more value, a guildie just bought one for 5K. I use mine with barrage and just chew through large groups.

Sundering makes me happy--because I realize how worthless it is, but can still manage to up the price on anything with the sundering mod.

Yes, I agree - that's the only advantage for sundering. It does really boost the price of an item. I'm such a hypocrite. When selling an item with sundering - esp perfect sundering - I brag of the advantages. But when not I make fun of those who do value it.

don't think they're really any higher than other vamp mods (I don't count hammer) --- maybe a couple k, if that.
