Mimi, I know what you went through it is a headache, especially the RoF elites (those which are in the missions). I'm still missing Spirit of Greater Conflagration from Hell, and I've done the mission at least 10 times.

Hell's wasn't really hard, all of the elites are along the way. RoF is bad, just about as bad as Frozen Forest, as the areas where the elites are located are not along the way of a mission path. Nine times out of ten, PUGs would refuse to turn right and go the back way, they were too focused on finishing the mission.

And forget capping in Mineral Springs. You'd get a cap group together with plenty of monks (all screaming "I need SOJ!") - I guess ANet needs to nerf that skill too - and depending on the luck of the spawn, the monks would quit right after capping, regardless of what everyone else needs. You can only cap if the monks are unlucky and their boss doesn't show up until everyone else is done. It's truly pathetic.

lol problem with Hell is that every single time I've been the ranger boss hasn't spawned at the portals but somewhere else, and NO ONE wants to go exploring. Yeah I agree RoF mission captures are a pain. I had a guild team there with two PUGs about 3 months ago to get shield of deflection. It wasn't out the front of the fort so we went through and headed out the back. One of the pugs said, OMG I don't have time for this and went off to fight the mursaat by herself. She died, spammed res me and then left.
Agreed with mineral again. I've had the same experience

Yeah, the biggest problems I had were frozen forest (until I got comfortable henching it) and RoF, but minieral springs was just as bad simply because everyone is asking for IDS runs, or the group would die, or the monks would quit.

When I did finally cap my last skill in mineral springs, it was almost crimminal. We went to the northern path, the monks (of course) were just whining about SoJ non stop. The second boss we run across is the ele boss with the skill I need (he spawned at the collector just across the little bridge). I'm staring right at the boss, pinging it, saying we need to attack it, and the friggin monks were saying "no, we'll come back to it later". I almost freaked out. I simply sat and insisted we cap it first. Grudgingly the party came back and finished off that boss, so I could cap. I couldn't believe how selfish they were. I've NEVER quit on a skill capping group - or even a mission group that was also skill capping - and after I capped my skill I stayed with the group until everyone was happy. Luck would have it, the monk boss happened to be the last one we went to, so everyone else got their caps as well. A skill cap PUG right before I was in quit after the first boss - the monk boss - and the monks all dropped after capping.

I hate quitters in PUGs. It's the ultimate in selffish behavior but all too prevalent in online play.

I UAS'd on my monk just last week. Glad that I finally got it done (oh god I hate hate hate the Mursaat elites) but now there really isn't too much to do, with my guild as inactive as it is.
