are ectos becoming rarer ? In 3 UW sessions a team of 8 got 1 ecto (lucky me) and the 2nd&3rd time with my 55hp buddy we got squat.

Are ectos becoming rarer ?

why the hell is FoW so hard to get anyway.

we did a few Uw runs last night 55monk and ss with a tf/barrage ranger for the spider! All we got was 1sapphire on the first run and 2 runs later we had squat!!

But the night before Uw 3 man trapper group we got 4ectos on 2 runs!

It might be what's causing the lag. The servers are constipated with ectoplasm.

Lets see, droves of fools flock in to farm ecto then wonder why the server is slow... and on top of that cannot realise that they are farming an overfarmed area. Well I think that if we put two and two together we will realise that you are all fools :P In reality you are over farming a single area, AI exploiting, and then complaining that you don't get drops? Oh please. Be happy and maybe, here a grand thought, stop farming the same, inefficient, over crowded, farm spot in the game.

20+ runs into the Ruins of HoH, and I forked............................2 Ectos!! Yay!
Since Ectos are rarer and drops are each day worst, nobody has money, ectos or shards to buy Fissure Armor.
Ohhhh...the ones that where already rich before aaaaaaall the nerfings start, they can buy it.

And I don't farm in about 2 months, It's not worth it.
And doing ruins of HoH is not farming!

Please do not tell me how to play MY game which I bought with MY own MONEY.

That being said i do agree that people should not complain however we have the right to farm wherever whenever however we please. Unless you bought everyone the game then plz Shhh. I do TOPK every day i can and when i get bored i do augury rock. the servers should not be lagging because of htat because during halloween with pumpkin heads LA was fine it was filled to over 100 districts. So i have a feeling with factions that the lag will increase due to servers being changed or modded or w/e. the lag is everywhere in game not just in TOPK so now having said my peace

My my, he's getting touchy isn't he? Ecto rate DROPS less the more you farmed the area. This is why we have private servers, this is why we can solo without someone joining your game and stealing your kill. If you farmed that area for to long drops get crappy and the drop rate lessens near to nothing.

i have no idea what you guys are complaining about.

did 1 tombs run last night, and 3 ectos dropped for the group. 3! as has been said before, drops and drop rates are random. stop whining.

Well. For shards anyway, went with Savio and a few others last night to FoW to help Arik Desbreko get his FoW armor, and I got 4 shards, a key, and a ruby.

All the chests were gold, 3-4 gold weapons just plain dropped from enemies, and there were 3 other shard drops. It was amazing. We had a bad spawn on the very first group, as in as soon as we warped in we were fighting, probably the 2nd guy to die gave me a shard. So they still drop sometimes.

You understand that the drops ONLY decrease when you farm the same spot and the same group of enemies in a consecutive sequence during the same timeframe, right?

You make it sould like if you farmed Griffins for 2 months straight, on and off, you will start to see less drops whenever you choose to go back there. I have over 2 mil exp from farming Griffins and the drops are exactly the same as they were 2 months ago. I've never seen the "item drop/farm warning" and I never will because I don't kill the first 3 Minators outside of Prophets path 20 times in a row, I kill everything ;-)

Now Lady Erighan, do we know how the drop rate works how long till in time we know it's kicking in? No, we can only assume, and that is what we are doing, we know the drop rate decreases but to the extent of months on one spot, just wow. To the OP<-- still don't know what it means but seems first guy who made the thread, that he farms UW alot and thus we give him the theory that the more farmed the less drops.

Do you serious think if you farm the UW for 24 hrs straight, then come back 2 days later that your drops are now going to be influenced by what you did 2 days ago?

I don't understand why you (and it seems other people) think this way. If ANET penalized people like this, no one would farm.

It's already been proven, on this forum and every other forum, the only time your drops are influenced by farming is when you constantly kill the same group of enemies over a continuous period of time.

Example:

Go to Nolani and enter the mission. Kill the Char at the gate and repeat this about 20 times. About half way through you will see your drops, and enemy size start to decrease. Eventually, you will be warned that killing the same group over and over will affect your drops.

Now, go farm Griffins outside Augury Rock. Do the normal farm run, killing everything outside of Prophets Path. Do this for 1-24 hours and tell me what you notice. That's right, absolutely nothing. You will never get the same warning you did at Nolani and the drops will always be relatively the same (random). It doesn’t matter if you did it for 1 hour or 24 hours.

There's a reason everyone and their mother farm Augury Rock...day in and day out...

They were 8k at the trader Tuesday night and when I checked yesterday they were 9/5k.
I noticed that they do not drop as much.
Whatever I find I just gold on to them, you never know if they will be used in CH2 or not.
Also I believe that there will be FoW armor for the Ritualist and Assassin.

Back on the topic of ectos... I was in a 4-man UW group last night and 3 ectos dropped for the same person. I don't see that as very rare.

I was idle chattin in grotto and a freind? I guess wanted a spider, so I was like eh if you help sure, 2 ppl came along to chat n help, anyway this is how the run started.

I ment to say "2 nitemares" cause if you know when aaxte's stop patrollin theres somthing in there patrol(nitemares in the way)...

The guy got a spider and no ecto; I got no ecto either... but hey 2 droped in the 1st group...

Went on 3 UW SS/55 duo runs this morning. First run got nothing, second run got 2 ectos, 3rd run got 4 ectos. Seems like they're still dropping fine for me.
