Was in a ToPK group today.
Right after start of second level, one person freaked out over I don't even know what. A few seconds later, second person quits.
Third person never loaded into 3rd level.
We managed to finish just fine with 5 people. It took a bit longer, but it worked.
After coming back to entrance zone, there was the same person that quit, yelling at everyone wanting to join a non-quitter group, being sick of everyone quitting and afking. Judging from the time, i'd say that person never completed a run in mean time.
It had a poetic justice feeling to it.
On another occasion we had an afk leecher. Managed to get him killed in last level. Then he proceeded to tell us, that this is the second time it's happened. Guess some people never learn.

I'll state a possibly unpopular opinion, but I think that any barrage/pet group in the Tomb ruins that cannot complete the first level in 5-7 minutes should simply dissolve. Any death in the first level is in fact a serious warning sign that levels 2 and 3 will be a DP-filled slogfest, which takes all the fun out of this build.
Players for the roles in this build are abundant, and you need exactly two good players -- a puller who knows the lay of the land and a minion master who knows how to position the minions -- to rampage through all four levels. The rest of the team members merely have to be competent.
Yes, this is unfair to new barrage/petters, but chances are that the next group they join will have the right elements.

There always seems to be ditchers once one is somewhat deep into the game. It took me a while to get past the Dunes of Despair the other day because people either left 5 minutes into the mission or went AFK. It really gets annoying.

What I hate is when forming a party and one member says, oh plz bring that person or Im leavin... bla bla. Then you invite this low lvl person, to keep your lvl 20 happy, and sure enough, mission starts, they leave. Wow thanks. My worst experiences come from the Frost gate or borliss pass where the leader goes AFK without warning, and hes holding the Torch/gear! Hell it can be 30 minutes before this person returns. Needs to be a way to take items being carried from a party member. The other massive issue I have is the "brb" people that dont come back till the last second of the mission. I was helping out some people at Bloodstone with my MM. I made an army of Fiends that I kept from the majority of the time. Well, our leader says BRB. Naturally this was 2 minutes into the mission. We made it all the way to the cut scene... cut scene for a MM is certain death for the minions, I said skip forgetting about the AFK. Of course 5/6 skip, and just as the cutscene is about to end... the AFK comes back and skips... all minions dead. Thats a freeloader and I hate it. Simply say Im going to watch and not help, at least thats honesty. I did make sure to thank this player for letting my Fiends die rahter than skipping. She didnt get the importance of it.

this is all speculation rant
i hate quiters also , but i think i understand who are the quiters ...
PVP players !!! , i mean in random arenas they quit the team to save 4 seconds ...
doing this 50 times per day , quiting a team becomes a normal thing to do.
this people are used to fast responce in terms of emotional reward. if they feel sad or losing faith on that team , quit and look for a nother one .. there is no give your best to make that team work.
the place i hate more quiters is in : TOMB OF PRIMEVAL KINGS

So when I see people doing obviously dumb and newbish things i just quit. You can hate me for this as much as you want, I dont care.

You're sorry? you type stuff all day and don't need to explain to a kid?
first of all, i'm not a kid if that's what you meant. And it might not need much, just tell e.g. a monk to run if he takes damage, so he/she don't die.
And what about all those other players that might be at work all day, gets home to relax and you just quit on? you would be wasting their time too.
And btw i spend my day at work as an it support/helpdesk in hydro, so i sit 7-8 hrs in front of a pc daily. That's why i hate people that just quit without even telling, they're wasting my avaliable "gw-time" :-)
OK, just say : "this group don't work, we wont make it, so i'm leaving" .. ok FINE. just leave, But just say something !?!
Anything. That's what i'm asking. a little communication, after all this is a ONLINE game where you play to interact with other people from other contries.
Why don't play with hench if you don't want to communicate?
And do you do the same when you play with guild?
and for a quote :
So when I see people doing obviously dumb and newbish things i just quit.
ok, so you never try to help people get better? give people tips?
How did you get to know all you know? by self-teach? at one point you had to do something for the first time too...
i know you don't care if i hate you for it, that's understandable - i don't know you and you don't know be. But i think it would be a bad contribution for the GW community with that kind of attitude, the communnity already have a bad reputation. So i think you have a wrong attitude, but that's just my oppinion. It doesn't hurt to be polite, help people and so forth.
And someone else her says that :
"it's not their job to teach me" ..
i'm not saying that, and i don't need any teaching. i just want people to communicate a little. If you don't want to communicate, play with hench... Then you won't need to communicate
and agree with elektra_lucia:
the solution is to keep playing, i've done that too - and more drops for us.
but i'm still frustrated about people who just leave:-)
(and that might be because 1 person just made a mistake, and that happens.)

WHats up with that ? Do they think that a PUG will work as a "well oiled machinery" ??

Some people, mostly with an "invincible wammo" complex, just don't accept that death is an ordinary occurrence in Guild Wars.

So do I, fortunately the few times that I have dropped, there has been at least one person in the group with an easy name. I hate those hard to spell names, or the mixed caps ones. Very annoying when forming a group.

It doesn't happen often, but I have been known to quit a time or two. I don't play GW to deal with drama. I play to relax and enjoy my free time. If people are arguing, calling each other names, what have you, I will quickly leave, sometimes with an explanation, sometimes without. It's not like they can't figure it out. It's not my duty to sit through the duration of a mission, quest, etc.. that is unenjoyable for the sake of saving face of not being a "quitter."

Communication is possible only if people prepared to accept the fact that they dont know something. Most people are not. If you dont know something about this specific area _you_ should ask _before_ going there. If you dont know basic things about playing your character, _you_ should go play with henchies, do missions, quests and quit using runner services.
I'm sorry, now _I am_ wasting of _your_ time? lol, ok bye.

Just depends on the character of the person imo, in one fow run the necro died because he was too effin stupid to kite when all the nmes attacked him and just quit in a huff. On another run the necro wasnt particually very good and got like 60% dp but carried on by sticking death nova on and charging the target group giving us all a headstart on killing them. the first was probably an arrogant s**t who thought he was better than everyone else and the second wasnt that good but stuck in there for the team

I as well hate it when others leave/drop so I try like heck to stick to the groups I join. Unfortunately, my wife sees this simply as a game that I can pickup up and leave at anytime. There have been times when on a mission or quest where she asks me to let the dog out while I'm playing. Apparently since she let the dog out the last 3 times it is my turn and any attempt to ask her to do so or wait till mission/quest finished is deemed as a cruel and sadistic strike deep into the heart of very marital sacrament itself. So what do I do? Well, instead of pissing her off and hearing her nag and b!tch I opt to go afk and/or break away from game. So for anyone out there that grouped with me when my wife made me drop then I'm truly sorry.
Hell hath no fury like a wife scorned over Guild Wars.
