ok, so if you have a normal edition GW1, and buy the Collectors edition CH2,
do you get glowy hands for all charachters? or just the 2 new ones?

I guess this'll linkage (existing accounts -> new S/W ) info will come out in due course.
You will add the factions key to your account. Since you have 2 accounts, if you want both to have factions, you will need two copies.

There is only one client if you have a factions account and non factions account they will both play off the same client.

Woohooo I can't wait I just hope I don't get it in the mail 5 days after it's due date. ( When it's available, that is.)

Ash.

I'm interested in knowing that as well...

For people who didn't pre-order factions, and still want to participate on the preview event from their original GW Prophecies campaign, would they be recieving any additional character slots? or is deletion required?

So many questions... so little answeres...

Please go to guildwars.com and read the new faq they posted along with the press release...there ARE answers if you'd just look for them. There are no additional slots for pre-existing accounts for the preview event. You have to delete or make a new temp. account, just like PVP weekend.

well. I certainly hope. Factions Collector's Ed. would have a diff. "special" ingame "prize" this time. (divine aura in factions collector's would be a serious turn-off personally.)

Collector's Ed. ch.1 had the divine aura. It is tied, "account based".
I have a norm and collector's. I play diff accounts in same comp.
Only the collector's account gives all characs (PVE/PVP) the divine aura(glowy hands).

Any word on if theres going to be more than one set of pre-order items? It says you get one for each class, but does everyone get the same two items? If not, when will we know which items we get, and how do we choose? or do we not get to choose...

I'm really glad that ANet picked that weekend - it's a few days after I have to hand in some coursework

Gameplay UK have Factions pre-ordered for £24.99 (regular) and £44.99 (collector's). I'll certainly plump for the regular edition (exqueez me? £20 differece?), but won't order it until I find out if gameplay are providing a pre-order key. And I won't ask until Alex confirms the European details.

The glowing hands/divine aura was a feature of the GW:Prophesies collector edition and I believe that Gaile Gray has stated that people who purchased the GW:P CE will PROBABLY get this feature for the 2 new classes.

Keep in mind, the GW:Factions collectors edition has not been described yet and might not even feature a glowing hands/divine aura effect. We will just have to wait and see what is bundled together into the GW:F collector's edition. Personally, I will have to see what gets included in the CE before deciding to purchase it again. The first one I basicly purchased to obtain the headset/microphone.

Since I can access the beta event by default with my GW:P account, I have no need to run out and get the pre-order right away unless the ritualist and assassin pre-order items are available during the beta (which I doubt they will be) and I want to use them during the beta.

Glowy hands had nothing to do with the ch1 preorder, you only get those if you buy the collectors edition of the ch1 package. Look around, you should still be able to find it.

If you do not have a spare slot left for the beta, simply use one of the 3 guest accounts being allocated to GW:P players to create a new character. Sure, you might not have access to the items/gold/faction of your primary account, but you will be able to play multiple new characters without having to delete one from your primary account.

Try doing /preorder in an outpost. It doesn't work out in an instance.

The problem with that is all the skills/upgrade items you unlocked in the temp account will be purged as well with that account. In order to preserve all the unlocked bonuses, we must make room by deleting some of our old characters . The short answer is that there will be no new character slots (at least for the FPE).

Does 14 days/ 10 hour trial mean you can play for 14 days but have a 10 hour limit?

No it means you can play a total of 10 hours or 14 day duration, whatever is the shortest. I guess it'll be like the free codes given out by ATI a while back

I'm pretty sure I did it in town, but I am not positive. I will try again tonight.

Ok, just to let me get this straight. If you've got Ch. 1 Guild Wars you can play it.
If you haven't got Ch. 1 Guild Wars you can play it by acquiring a pre-order package?

If you only want to try the new PvE content, this is the best way to do it without a free character slot. Even if you use your primary account, you still cannot access your items, gold, and the PvE character data will be wiped after the event. So you lose nothing trying it with a temperary new account.

Those unlocks won't be purged. If you add a retail key to the temp account, you can keep those unlocks. And if you intend to unlock new skills and item upgrades, you must be playing PvP during the event, in which case, you should have a PvP character available by all means.

Yes, and alternatively you can ask a current GW player to send you an invitation to play it. Current players can send out up to 3 invitations.
