THE EUROPEAN ONLINE PRE-ORDER (no box or contents)
Beginning March 3rd, European customers can visit their favorite online retailer to pre-order Guild Wars Factions online. The online pre-order will include:

A key that provides access to the Factions Preview Event on March 24th
Access to Guild Wars Factions twenty-four hours before the official release date
Exclusive in-game items—one unique item for each of the two new professions

THE EUROPEAN BOXED PRE-ORDER PACK
The European boxed Pre-Order Pack will be available in stores on March 31st and will include all of the items available in the online pre-order plus:

A tactical guide and quick-reference card PDF in five different languages
A CD that includes concept art, wallpapers, in-game movies, and Factions music
A Guild Wars Factions poster

Sounds pretty sweet, think I might wait a bit though in case a store offers a free T-shirt deal

That depends on the retailer. Typically a preorder package is just a promise to buy a copy of the game when it's released. Any retailer that refuses to sell you a more expensive version is foolish and you should shop elsewhere.

If that's the CE then I'm going to get the standard edition. Nothing in it seems to catch my eye.

Don't want to end up with a lousy war pick (don't even have a single warrior in my pve slots) all over again. I still can't get over how much the Western preorder had sucked comparing to Eastern.

Yea ... none of the retailers, mainly GS or EB tell of recieving these items. We receive them when the game releases? Can't be, since we get a keycode for the beta and other such things.

Also, Amazon and BB have prices at $39 when GS and EB are at $49.

Ok the way it works, at least for the Europeans is that we can get the box, which gives hard physical items, plus the in-game items. Or we can order online, not receive a box and only get the in-game items.
I'm still waiting for official word on what will happen to those of us who order the CE as a pre-order.

Divine Aura which I should have got with my CE for chpt1 but which has NEVER worked.

You get to play 24hrs ahead of time with the boxed version too. If you were looking at the page it states that the "box" includes the same as the online version + extras.

it doesnt matter which storehas which item.. ALL pre-orders will have 2 items 1 for each profession
they just havent given us teh details on the items.. what im more worried about.. after thsi update on teh gw site, i cannot acces ebgames.com ROFL
keep saying too many conenctions and lagging out

good point my bad, i had presumed 31st march was the release date, not the preorder boxed release date, therefore negating the fact that you can play 24 hours early, nevermind.

In Europe we can only get the pre-order box with the guide and cool stuff in it as well as the preview access key in stores on the 31st March? How does that make sense? That's after the preview!
If I already have the key from the PvP Preview Weekend in January, does that work for the Preview Event coming up as well?

Symeon, the way it has been explained in a thread around here somewhere is that if we want to get into the WBE we need to order online, we can then request a box which we won't get until the end of March. Since most of us own GW anyway, we don't need to worry about it all that much
