Network News
Due to a server error, Guild Wars experienced an unintentional reset of the traders. For nearly an hour, traders were selling items at unrealistically low prices. Due to the harmful impact that such an event would cause to the game economy, we are rolling back the entire state of the game to shortly before the problem began, that is, to 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 21:00 GMT.
there ya go folks

And even if it is and they will do it there will be two points 1st good that economics was not harmed at overal but 2d from players who will suffer from this rollback, some got some good drops on that time, some sold smg at price they wanted to sell it, some bought smg at good price, some did a hard mission or finished hard skill capture, so it will cause a great wave of unpleased people. I think ANet will have to do something about it like new cristmass or heloween or like free functions to all

I am sure they will make it up to us but people are being selfish, the economic wellfare > a small fraction of people's gains. Its simple logic. When have they even let us down? In my eyes never.
By the way the last price reset was done to globalize the GW economy and traders, it was intentional and cannot be used as a defense for keeping this reset.

Friend of mine bought 1000 shards, 900 sapphires, 600 rubies and 20 superior absorptions.
Shame about the rollback ^_^

I'm glad GW is reverting the the madness that happened today. A few guildies and I worked really hard to afford the superior absorbtion runes we have and i wouldnt be to happy if joe blow who just got out of presear gets one for 250gold.
the only thing im worried about in the rollback is the 15^50 fellblade me and a friend of mine found today. i cant remeber what time we got it hnoes

Roll back. Well that kinda sucks. Couldn't go all out and get tons of stuff like some people did as I'm at work, but I was able to acquire enough stuff that would put me a nice enough position for my tastes.
Oh well, either way it wasn't going to be fair in all truth. Just like it wasn't really 'fair' that I (among many many others) missed the "legit" price reset that turned many people into over night rich kids as well. I'll bet none of them are complaining anyway.
Don't need a million plat, its a waste anyway. But I sure woulda loved to keep the runes that I otherwise will never see. Figures.

I'm glad for the rollback to just before it happened and not a 24 hour rollback since I just got a 15%^50 eternal bow last night.

It seems all the hard work done to completing missions and finding your rare item, capping skills or pets (spider capping last night) outweighs the heavy nature of this 'trader reset' problem which will pose an issue with the GW economy. Either way, ANET is going to lose out on this one.

It is a very sharp double-edged sword. People said they would be extremely angry if they didn't roll back, and now some people are getting screwed and are angry (for nonmonetary reason's of course) now that a roll-back has taken place. If would be interesting if ANET could only roll back the economic portion of the game, and say left the gold drops, exp, and missions completed untouched. Or do a full rollback, then individually restore gold drops, exp and missions from the supposed transaction log that is kept. How many people where on at the time, a couple thousand? Individual attention over say a week is not unreasonable.

better a handful of pissed off people who did/got something in those 2hrs than an entire community up in arms because their months of farming just got negated by someone lucky enough to be logged in at the right time
