Rpg players are not looking to pvp in any way. They are looking for adventure, and story.
I think it is more a lack of under standing RPG players. That is why there is so meny fights too, between RPG players and Pvp players.

You nailed it dreamhunk. It seems though, if you've heard the interview
http://www.gamingsteve.com/podcasts/...2006-03-20.mp3
The misunderstanding starts at the top. Jeff S is interviewed here and after hearing him talk about his enjoyment of "griefing" and PKing in Diablo... even the Devs have no idea (it would seem) what PvEers' are looking for in a game.
My suggestion, wait for Chapter 3 if PvP is not your thing. The interview states that Chapter 3 is scheduled for November. Maybe Anet will get that one right. That is my opinion of course, but you should hear the interview and make up your own mind.

I have already bought the CE, I am going to try it any way. I mean does not hurt to try fractions. I think anet will need both a rpg player point of view as well as pvp players point of view. This is ground breaking stuff anet is working on. I am going to try first then make my comments.
To help people under stand a rpg player vs pvp, I will give an example.
say ask the following question fighting or killing monsters to
(pvp mind set)
Monster lots of killing, maybe tactics, challnege and strategy.
(RPG mind set)
monsters like dragons and titans, hardship , pain, lore and exploring. We think things like lord of the rings and quests, Then after the quest the rewards.

"Jeff from Anet had stated in an interview about that the players won't be missing much from the elite mission if they can't do it."
But I'll be missing stuff. Missing stuff I paid good money to be able to play. I'm a stricly PvE player. I play the game to explore. Whole regions will be cut off from me from being able to explore them, see the cool sights, play everywhere, fill in the map.
