If you link your Factions account you gain 50% more character slots, so logically it would be reasonable to expect storage to increase 50% in capacity?
If not, then this is another reason NOT to link your factions account (which ANET insists is a good idea)
However ANET doesnt seem to see logic or reason where a few issues are concerned...
Storage is one of these issues which ANET seems blind to, despite all the logical reasons, (not least of which is the tons of new collectible items they have introduced into the game since its release)
Guild storage is another one... its needed, fans want it! there are good reasons to have it - other games have it and manage fine, so there is no real reason it cant be implemented
Same goes with 1vs1.. just for sheer depth of entertainment 1vs1 would give, unbeleivable why still not in yet.
These issues and features which fans have been banging on about for nearly a year and still nothing....
I wouldnt hold your hopes up too high

I thought Guild Storage was a given...
And there are rumors about special storgae for customized items (which will help a lot). But Anet could make lots of money just selling extra slots to people, that's for sure. (Let's not turn this into another Slots thread... pretty please. With Dwayna on top.)

lol, you really dont like slots issues do you ?
I actually dont mind with the way ANET are handling the slots thing and dont want to make it a slots thread myself either......
However..
I do suspect character slots and personal storage are directly related!..
After all, if your own family grew from 4 to 6 you would need a bigger house, wouldnt you?.. true, you wouldnt need a house twice the size but you would definatly need it to be bigger....
6 characters sharing the current storage capacity would be intollerable, wouldnt it ?
more storage will DEFINATLY be needed!.. so at the very least, if you link your account storage should increase by the same proportion.
I dont think this is unreasonable, and my argument is logical, but my point is.. where storage is concernd ANET doesnt seem to see logic or reason!

Who knows what Anet is thinking? They could be greedy, as some suggest, and this is all a ploy to encourage people to buy multiple accounts (which, IMO, is not a bad thing. Hardcore players pay more money to store their extra crap. Casual players like me stay unaffected).
There could be legitimate expenses for storage which is why Anet is currently limiting storage on linked accounts.
Or, there could be plans to expand storage later. We really don't know, but with all the threads on the issue of slots and storage (which, as you say, are connected), I sincerely doubt Anet is unaware of the "problem."

And I agree with everything you say, especially about Anet being aware it.
Noone is debating about wether or not Anet are aware of it , of course they are! they have been aware of it since very early on, its the most common question asked at frog/gaile sightings.
And yet, they still havnt directly answerd the question, explained their concerns or given any hints about their future intentions!
why not?..
"who knows what they are thinking?"...
when Anet go to such lengths to avoid answering concerns like this its pretty obvious that its not a good one! in contrast, they are very quick and LOVE to answer questions we are going to like the answer to..... (ie, is Guildwars still going to be free monthly?)
and this is why I think that we are NOT going to like the answer! and am not going to get my hopes up, despite the logical and reasonable assumptions.
I agree, the slots issue is one directly answerd by Anet and explained, as such is pointless to debate, the storage issue, however, is still a very worthwhile debate.

It is not point less, you see im gettin storage problems and i have only play this game for 2 moths i have all storage packed up and all my characters slots filled, Im a hard core gamer and like to PvE more than PVP and i olso like to have my little collection in some items,
For example my Necro character I usually play him as a ORDER,SS,death and in some cases i play Soul rip, but you see you need one armor to do this and 4 diferent head scar with super runes in it. Plus each one has a diferent set of weapons and personally i like all. Besides all the armor you olso like the good lookin armor Like fissure. Imganie all ectos the craftin materials so basically you have the belt pack and the bags filled up. Not saying that the crafting materials you can only hold 250 of each.
Iguess the little space we have now in the storage in enough for the 4 but for 6 char i guess ill have problems with storage.
Oh and im planin to buy another acount to create the other characters i cant create due to that i only have 4 slots but it will be the same ill get filed u with the storage i guess.
so my point is that storage for merged acounts is an issue.

Well, I've just had to trash my candy weapons because I need the space so yeah, I'd be looking for more storage as a must. Had to ditch the Halloween stuff to make room for THEM, by the way. Either that or form my own guild and use that for storage - but I guess that is out if the 'rewards' rumours are true.

Having less storage promotes trading. Having trading promotes interaction with other people. Interaction with other people promotes friendship development. Having friends keeps you playing and buying more games.
Having limited space also encourages people to buy extra accounts (seems silly to me just for storage reasons, but people do it).
So, less storage looks like more money for them. I doubt we'll see it.

I completly disagree, when trading, you try trade as many different items at the same time increase the chance of a sale.... this is directly related to how many items you have to sell! which in turn, is directly related to how many items you can physically hold!
I have hardly any space for tradeable items, so I only keep hold of the most valuble items, even then.. they hang around for weeks not being sold, I end up giving them away to at least someone who would use it.
I now hate trading, and the lack of space discourages any sparks of interest I may have again.

I agree with the rest of this...
I spoke to someone the other day who has 3 accounts.. two of which are mule accounts, unbelievable, but actually completly affordable.
Even so.. 6 characters sharing one standard storage box... it would just be completly wrong
