Screw the "Gold" only attitudes. I for one am glad about these collectors, that means that real GOLD w/ PERFECT STATS AND RARE SKIN become much more appreciated due to its rareness and the market wont be filled w/ these semi baked items. I made it out ok w/ the expensive era, but these collectors have to stay, absolutely no sense to take them out just cause you have intentions of making money out of golds. I for one love to sell, but if it means having the best stuff for free? I'll take it. Have you seen the collector items? have you seen the new weapon skins? collectors will always look like crap compared to the rares, its just a matter of who looks cool and who just wants to be effective. Heck I had a victo bulwark and a carapace stance shield, I sold the bulwark due to the carapace shield being simply more practical.

Considering max mods were always obtainable on pvp/collector before... how is this any different? The 'achievement' of finding a 15 in stance crystalline is in prophecies, no? Even though there is a collector with the same mods, trading for the extremely common troll tusks.

Um... dude these are only available during the preview event so I'd go and grab your ragos wand now because chances are they wont be so easy to get when factions comes out.
Everyone starts at lvl 20 with max dmg equipment so anet decided to give players stuff thats a bit better for them to get. Sounds fair to me.
Oh and by the way the economy isn't ruined because you can't get the items to Tyria and they will all get deleted when the event's over

You will see these collector's items stay once Factions is released. PvP items of equal stats have already started appearing (like the shield) and the collector's will help offset the gap between what the PVP character gets instantly and a PVE character can achieve without spending 1000k on a fire wand.

I love the new collector's items!

You seem to forget. Guild wars isn't about who has the best item. So if collectors have such great stat items. I'm all for it. I don't want to be forced to pay for an over priced "Uber Longsword of Noob Slaying" for any of my characters. I don't think any weapons, shields, offhands, etc. With decent mods should be exclusively available to the people who have lots of gold. This way lets everyone have a shot at getting good items for their character without having to waste a fortune of gold.

That's incorrect. Items that are in your bags, etc. Will be removed. There is NO confirmation that the weapons the collectors sell are temporary.

Cudos Anet! Further proof that they listen to their customer base. Now all we need are some collectors that hand out the seperate mods so people don't have to dish out several hundred plat for a customized weapon.

BTW: on the casual gamer front: we now have to work for the collectable items, we don't have to farm for a week anymore just to get 1 weapon. Plus, there's finding the collector, getting to them (which might not be so easy in the release version; they're showing off atm, and rightly so

)

This being the point I was making before. People don't want to be forced to pay extremely large amounts of gold for equipment. As for getting rid of them. The people who actually want them gone are the greedy people who farm for items in order to take advantage of the people who can't find or farm for the equipment they need. um EVERYTHING on your character will be wiped when the even is over..all the items, all gold, all levels and even the armour will go back down from 60ac to the basic newbie armour....(though you wont notice and visual difference, they will look exactly the same i guess)

and whats wrong with them letting us get a taste for the good collector items now?
dont forget, that valley (pongmei) will be a low-middling area again once the game goes live...between the Marketplace and it, theres a whole heaping chunk of City...i think that will be the games version of the PreSear area....

the collectors items we are seeing now will be tha same style and skins, but the stats will be max *for that areas level*
the full max stuff will be in harder to reach areas...the Factions equivelent of the Desert....it will take a few months at least for the running buisness to get there.

they are showing us them now, to whett our appetite for them, make us want them more once the game goes live...

besides....why shouldnt PvE get max items...it allows us to compete against PvP eventually. just remeber....we wont get them *Right at the start.....only when we get thru to the end-game starting areas....*

they will be starting in the Factions version of accention areas. no in their version of Old Ascalon, for goodness sakes!

These Items are NOT very strong at all.

They have fast casting. No spike team wants fast casting because it will offset the spike. Your greens are safe because they have recharge only.

This maybe the pve GOD weapon for pvp these are just junk. Give me a +5 energy 10% recharge all spells wand anyday.

not everything in PvE is good for PvP....and that the way it should be.
but a handfull of good for both items is what we *should* see, and more that are usefull for PvE...
after all, thats what some of us are looking for..i for one like the collector items.
and unless theres a snowball arena, i wont be using anything from a collector in PvP.

however, greed wil always be there....just rember, farmer sellers ect....that *Unique* and *rare* skins will always be worth more...whats to stop yoyu selling them?

oh, right.....some of us dont care about getting an Uber FDS or IDS.....and then you might not make all the nice profit you do now....

+30 -5 20% is TOTALLY without any conditions. this is just a shield u can use EVERYTIME EVERYWHERE. EVEN ALWAYS IN PVP.

think about. that's why it should be damn rare IN MY opinion...

Er... get a grip. Superior golds to those collector items have been available for ages. If anything, make these items more wide-spread. GJ on that Anet! Now fix the damn double skills, its annoying!
