i think that the factions will balance out due to imbalance and not everyone will want to be on the winning side. and hopefully new players will support whoever sucks (luxons) *cough cough*
anyways.....kurzicks are like goths with a religion
and if goths werent gay, i would love them

i hope my guild chooses whichever side is least popular. I am impatient and dont want to wait around in line for teams from the opposite faction to battle with.

I think the choice between Luxon vs. Kurzick will be a matter of prefence since I have yet to see a benefit to either side. Then again, Ill reserve that thought till the full game comes out. As for the whole Barbaraic vs. Civilized agrument, I think that is point of view. After all, one may see it as :

Luxon:Barbarians with low intelluct who have no sense of "acceptable behavoir", using strength to solve all their disputes.
Kurzick: Civilized people following tradition and religious doctrine devoting their abilities to better themselves as a nation.
-OR-
Luxon: Free roaming nomads with a sense of inner strength and who are not restricted by rules or society.
Kurzick: Religious zealots with a snobbish view of anyone who doesnt share their sense of "civilized society" and who value group menatality over individualism.

Ok, granted, not actually representative of some views out there, but is an example on how some may view this choice. Personally, until it it shown what benefits are available for either faction, I will be siding with the Luxons. Was never really into hte whole "greater good" belief system, and besides, when I think of Kurzicks I can't shake the thought of George Bush leading an army of White Mantle.

It is a Guild decision...or more precise: a Guild Leader pays 500g, for his/her Guild to become aligned with one side or the other.

There cannot be a guild split amongst the 2 factions. So, individual choice probably does not make a hill of beans here, BUT...individuals should make it known to their Guild, what they prefer, and have the maturity to stick with the Guild's collective decision.

...and yes, I see Guild splits, people dropping their Guild and looking for a different Guild, one that is aligned with the faction that they like. Thos would be PvE people for certain.

Although its evened out a bit... kurzicks do seem to be a the most popular. I've already decided luxon so im glad about that.

For the moment Kurzick less leavers seems to be better players from my experince.

Although i may change when Factions comes out Kurzick isn't generally the side i would go for and I'm guessing most of the new players are going for Luxon as its got that "Rebel" thing about it.

Right now, Kurzick. I like the Kurzicks as a whole. I do not, however, like the individual Kurzicks, especially the ones that (even though the game's been up less than 24 hours) feel it's necessary to bring up their superior intelligence, honor, attunement to nature and what-have-you.
So Kurzick. ^_^

Guess I should be a Kurzick then. Don't want to associate with the thuggish Luxons and their equally degenerate Ohio State brethern. We'll keep our art and education, and you can go... riot in the streets, or whatever it is you Luxon/OSU-types do.

Why everybody prefer Kurzicks? Well... I am more familar with Kurzick only because I randomly choose the side, and that's the first one I choose.

However, as being a professional Hydromancer, I guess a water country suit me more?

new players will lean towards the kurzicks to begin to with, even without knowing much about both sides or what each side is like, and if they had to choose a faction at the start, kurzick would be the choice, simply because it is the first quest in the log (K over L), that is the decision that a vast majority took before they made a final decision. (this was the same with me, I went to the Kurzick side first, before venturing to the Luxons)

As for me, I prefer the Luxons, simply because I do not like darkness... and the environments that the Kurzicks reside upon take look too un-natural. Don't get me wrong I'm all in for civilization, but I do not like the gothy feel of the Kurzicks and couldn't really see myself taking refuge within the forest.
I mean comon the main guy at the zu helter house looks like Count Dracula!!

I will however explore both sides thoroughly during the final factions release before making a final decision, but based on this event I Prefer the Luxons.
