Like a large percentage of cantha is that huge freakin urban looking area but as far as I know there is only one outpost/town there and its the marketplace...

THERE ARE closed portals in the marketplace so what do you all think is through those portals? Give your anticipations and thoughts here... I hope when you go through its a zone where you can travel the city and fight, like random mobs of maybe a certain clan or gang (Yakuza? minus the guns and Lexus's ofcourse) that would be sweet.

In the cantha map forum there is a map that shows some of the other areas you can access - taken from another site - but it gives some idea about what is there - but not all I'm sure. I'm betting on some kind of underground/sewer area for exploration, that would be nice.

Ascelon or North Shiverpeeks level/style quests and missions. I think there will be a different 'world" for Pre-Searing; maybe the island to the west or "another time" like Pre for Prophecies.

I was under the impression that there are actually 3 countries on Cantha with 2 at war and the third, the Empire, attempting to negotiate between Kurzick and Luxon in the wake of Shiro's return. Between Marketplace and your zone point into Kurzick/Luxon Territory.

Luxon/Kurzick territory become Cantha's version of the Desert by comparision, with Fire Island Quests coming up after the Whirlpool.

When you talk to the gate guard in the market place he teleports you to the edge of the city because the other places of interest within the main city are not available within the preview. Other NPC's also teleport you across maps in this preview.
