Overall, I think it's a really good preview. As someone mentioned earlier, there are nits, but they are just that (faces, assassin chicken legs, etc). What they are giving us is absolutely worth the price of admission, and I'm certain that Anet will strive to improve upon what they have, just as they've done with GW throughout this last year.
Frankly, I'm kinda feeling a sense of astonishment and wonder at the whole thing... at one point while going through the Ritualist skillset, I had a feeling akin to vertigo, like everything I knew was spinning out of control. I'm excited to see how the release of Factions will effect the community as a whole, and anticipate that it's going to be more widespread of an effect than most of us are imagining it to be. That's the impression that the FPE has left me with.
And to think that this is only the first of many chapters...

Reading some of the other threads around I almost think people are all playing a game noone likes. I even get this reaction from some people in guild and others I know - it's very discouraging. I guess I just don't understand why people are (or can be) so negative about it - I've quite enjoyed exploring a whole new region and the new ways in which I can do it.
I remain very wary of "forced" pvp aspects but I'm overwhelmingly positive about almost everything I have seen, and it's good there will be some dynamism to the continental map. The scenery is, appropriately I think, quite fantastic. As ever, Jeremy Soule's music is excellent. If the area we have now is akin to "Droknar" (I'd judge, from the approximate levels of creatures we face. Although I doubt it will take us as long to get so far from level 1 in Factions this in itself is probably not such a bad thing) then the number of actual quests is a major improvement to me and it's looking like the whole game will be a lot less linear than Prophecies, which of course we all liked or we wouldn't be here. Would we?
Change is good. I'm waiting for my CE preorder for chapter 3.

I like it indeed.
Only two additional things I would like to see: one, to get a decent looking female armour for my Ele, not this hooker's outfit. Another, the forest areas must be brighter, I hardly can see anything there in this darkness.

Sign me up. Once I managed to get a few quests done and uncover some of the new areas, I started having a blast. I can't wait for Factions release.

Since the game came out at midnight yesterday, I have only not played for 5 hours. And that was from sleeping. I really love all the new areas, enemies, skills, and henchmen. And new weapons! Yay! Everything is awesome. And thanks ANet for adding a merchant in each map so we can sell stuff without having to go back to town and lose all the progress in clearing the map!

I have been having a blast and can't wait for Factions to be released! The graphics, music, sounds, environment, charcters! Come on, this is just great! Some of the skills are the same, but who cares! The game is great so far, the game play is fantastic; the faction battles are insane but so much fun! I'm actually purchasing two copies of factions because I love the game so much and want to have the extra slots. Just love the preview and can't wait to get home and play more.

Nice...
I am glad this thread got so many responses. I have not been close to a computer to keep it at the top, which is hard right now with the flood of people in the forums from the FPE.
Anyways, I'm bringing it back up to get another round of some positive experiences.
Thanks for the contributions

I'm enjoying every minute of it. There we're two threads today that annoyed. One which was made about how they think anet should remove the "uber" collectors items. I'll qoute myself for emphasis.

And another thread which practically said mesmers we're useless and assasins are better or somewhere along those lines. Basically one of those threads that will really piss you off.

Wonderful job Anet it's great seeing all the new features and gameplay elements, also knowing that there's more on the way on the 28th of next month (27th for me ) Fantastic environments, the new character designs and armor suits are awesome, I love it! There's a few bugs here and there, such as the shadow step issue and a few other tidbits, but hey- that's what betas are for, right?
April 27, here I come!

That line right there already proves that you are already looking forward to Chapter 3 instard of drooling over Chapter 2. People Just won't admit that the their impression of Factions isn't as good as they hoped.

Need to sign again... why?
~ Jeremy Soule's music in several places is simply outstanding.
~ The competitive missions were actually pretty darn fun.
~ The Ritualist is a really deep profession, love it.
~ The Assassin, despite it's chicken-legs, is a lot of fun to play too.
~ The new Beast Mastery skills are totally awesome!!! Yay!
There are definitely things here and there that I don't like so much, but after two days in the FPE, I'm pretty impressed with it overall. Pretty sure I'm gonna grab a copy.
PS. When I found the second Marketplace entrance through the Assassin's den, it kinda felt like this was a preview of some underground or city-like quest areas... don't know, but it had that feeling.
