Default Guild Alliance Standing Dropping

Okay, so this really isn't a big deal, but my guild and I put the faction we gain from PvP/PvE into gain Alliance Standing just to see how much we could get, but it the number of standing points keeps dropping.

My guess would be it is from where we have not put any more faction into it, so it is a penelty for an inactivity and this is how ANet will keep alliances from gaining a bunch of alliance standing points then quit and still hold towns and the like. Am I correct to assume this?

Also, since the search was down, I was unable to see if this question had been posted already, if it has can you plz direct me to it. Thanks.

I also have been wondering about this. We lost over 30 alliance points in 1 day. I'm not sure how this really works either, any light shed on details would be great.

correct. plus a.net wants every guild/alliance to start without standings, so... the game begins april 28 (or 27 if u preordered)

This is the decay that was talked about before. Supposedly the decay is faster when an alliance holds a town.

I'm curious if the decay scales based on the number of points, as well.

Looks like testing is in order.

For instance, in 37 hours, my guild has lost 11 points starting at 110.

If it didn't decay, it would be impossible for new guilds to ever work their way up to the huge amount of town-controlling faction that you would need.

My guild still has 791 luxon...I think it has decayed ~100 since the end of the event.
