Redundancy of Chapter 1 Warrior armor
Just like the other million wammos out there, I'm rather excited about the upcoming new armors. But what of our old armors?
Gladiator's will always have its use, because of the energy gain. Also, Sentinel's does require 13 Strength, which is albeit a small price to pay for such massive amounts of armor.
This said, if I recall correctly from the preview event, an armor type was for sale in the Luxon city (apparently not available for pvp) which provided 90 armor +10 vs. physical attacks, which is simply 5 more armor than Platemail/Wyvern, no questions asked.
So what gives?

Its not just warrior armour. Elementalist armour is the same. Every single piece of ele armour atm sucks, unless you somehow have infinite space in your inventory for a full set of each then it might be useful.
Battlemage (the one with +AL to physical) is gonna be my armour of choice the moment its available since physical is used everywhere, unless they seriously improve the old armour.

The Gladiators Armor can be purchased in a Kurzick version, so we most likely won't see the classic "Gladiator" armor much. As a matter of fact, most of the armor types can be gotten in a Kurzick/Luxon version, so yes, most old armors won't have a use.
I'll still be using the classic Gladiators Cuirass because I think it looks cool, and I'll also be using the collector Ringmail Gauntlets. But the rest will be Kurzick Gladiator/Sentinel armor.
PS: The armor you speak of is Dreadnaught armor, which offers 90 AL and +10more vs. Physical, if I remember correctly.

All the warrior armours bar Glads were more powerful in the preview weekend than their chapter 1 counterparts.
Preview Knights 80 +20 vs physical with dammage reduction
Chap 1 Knights/Ascalon 80 +10 vs physical with dammage reduction
Dreadnaughts 90 +10 vs physical
Chap 1 Wyvern/Dragon/Platemail 85 +10 vs physical
It's been well discussed and people feel that this will be resolved, hopefully in the balance coming 15th
I myself am a little more sceptical, sorry

In the distant future of Guild Wars Chapter 7
Ch7 player: OMG! That armor is awesome! Where did you get it!?
Ch1 player: Yea, I know it is awesome. I got it from a secret area in the forgotten past.
Ch7 player: Wha? Anyway... What are the stat on it?
Ch1 player: Add 1337 defense and attribute.

The way i see it 'Sentinels' armour is the stance tanking armour of the future. Seriously when that armour comes out i wouldn't allow a stance tank in the group unless he wore that. It screams LET ME HOLD THE BOOK/GEAR!
Wonder how long till they nerf it when they decide its a bit too good

Legionares<sp> armour is better stance tank armour than Sentinels, 80 +20 vs Phys +10 while in stance. 110 base armour vs the most common attack type vs 100

Legionairres is still only 90 armour to Elemental Damage. Plus when your facing skeletons and such with 'Wild Blow' the stance part is ineffective.
Sentinels is permament 100 to everything and it also means your going to be using Dolyak Signet or what the hell are you doing with that much strength?
It just seems too many 'stance warriors' assume the build is entirely stances. I don't give a damn how many stances you bring aslong as your using Dolyak Signet. When your reducing Abyssals damage to 0, you know your onto something (its easy to do that already with Barrier/Bond but what the hell).

Faction looks very nice, and im excited about the armor most.
Question : Will the FoW armor get a new version of the Factions?
Would be nice if you could show/link the picture, if it would be possible.
The new Faction armors are better of my opinion , but what happeneds with those who havent Factions?
Harder to win in PvP against Faction players.
Or maybe i had wrong about Faction players could visit the GW world , but not GW players to Factions.

This man knows what he's talking about.
100 (Sentinel's) + 42 (16 Strength Dolyak) + 20 (Watch Yourself!) + 16 (Shield) + 5 (Defense Grip) = would you like fries with that?
And we're not even talking damage reduction from sup abs and shield mods.
But even then, it's stellar, even without the 21 armor from Shield and Grip when you're holding the Book or so.

I'd say there is a pretty good chance of that happening.

Gaile said their would be a new armor that is equally hard to get, or maybe she was referring to 15k armor, but...

Most likely not, since FoW is in Tyria.

I can't wait to get the new armor. I really like the "sentinal' 100AL. Looks much cooler than FoW and not as pricey...

There is no way of showing you without showing you something that you've already seen; All armor from the Kurzicks looks the same.
All armor from the Kurzicks will has the skin of what everyone is calling Sentinel Armor, which is in fact wrong. It's not the skin of Sentinel Armor, it's the Kurzick skin. In the same way, all armor from the Luxons has the turtle shell skin, which is what is wrongfully refered to as Berserker armor. However, you could easily go to House zu Helzer and buy Berserker armor that looks like every other kind of Kurzick armor.
That is also why you CAN get Tempest skin with Battlemage stats; Archmage armor is the skin you get on EVERY armor in the Luxon (or is it Kurzick?) armories.
To sum up
1: There are 6 different skins for all armor for all professions in Factions. Canthan skin, Kurzick skin and Luxon skin, together with the 15k counterparts. This is not counting the suspected FoW equivelant armor.
Example: You can purchase Berserker (and all other types) armor in Luxon skin, Kurzick skin, Canthan skin, 15k Luxon skin, 15k Kurzick skin, 15k Canthan skin and, presumably, FoW skin.
2: All stats can be gotten with all 6 different skins. You can purchase Berserker and Dreadnaught armor in House zu Helzer, but they'll both look the same. Likewise, you can ALSO buy Dreadnaught and Berserker armor in Cavalon, and they'll both have the Luxon skin (turtleshell).
3: The above statements count for all professions.
Hope that cleared up some things.

considering that a 13 strength means you have to cheap on tactics, the attribute that most stances, if not all of them I haven't checked yet, draw from, I doubt it will be much use for a stance tank.
