Example: Ryder finds out that farming mergoyal brings in big money and spams GWG with locations. People and bots all converge on listed location and make huge profit. Anet reads the information and decides "oh thats not right" and nerfs the location. Now Mergoyals drop crap
Or...
Ryder finds out that Skales are particularly fond of dropping some good items so he farms the hell out of them. But having learned from his mergoyal leason, Ryder does not share his location and Anet does not nerf it.
I'm like Ryder in example #2. When I find a good spot, I keep it to myself.

Its very easy to write a program to track player activity at all times.
take the trolls for excample, everyone and their mother knows about them and has farmed them sometimes in their life. Whenever a person leaves of joins a zone, that is recorded and saved somewhere. if 30% (exhageration) of all players are visiting Talus schute for 70% of their total play time, that propably is also recorded and investigated.
With computers nowadays, you don't need to do any manual work. Remember, everything you do as a player is recorded.

Noooo, no. A bot is either a character controlled by a computer program, or a computer program to control a character.
Some people use them to have their character run and kill 24/7. Nerfing them is difficult and often has deep-rooted consequences.

Hmm, I don't know of any real life spots with treasure that automatically regenerates every time you leave the area ...
Hey, great that you found a farming spot that works for you, and you've chosen not to share the info. Congratulations ... so what was the point of your post again? Are you aggrivated someone revealed a spot you used? I guarantee you weren't the first person to think of farming there, sorry to be the bearer of bad news

BS. The last nerf was when the scarabs invaded the griffon farming ground. ANet certainly didn't need gwguru to tell them about that farming ground (or any other, for that matter).
And I'm not even sure that was a nerf.

Hey guys, whats easier here?
A} Looking through all the logs and coding that are created by the 1 million + users and decifer where everyone is farming at or....
B} Take 2 min and log onto a fansite and check the posts and look for a thread that says "NEW FARMING SPOT - GOLDS DROPPING LIKE CANDY"
Seems like a simple answer to me. So I would have to agree that posting a good farming spot is not helping anyone. Especially the person who is farming that spot.

I do see his point (disagree with it). Anet allows players to do farming, it's the bot farming or extreme farming (usually done by sweat shops).
The more public the info is the more people use the more it causes anet to look at the Farming of X vs Effect of X on there game market and if it needs to be tweaked. They stated there fine but if it is causing trouble, they will tweak it.

The map stays the same. Program detects where monsters are. Bot runs towards to aggro. Bot kills.

Just do a search of the database for account with an amount of gold > X
Or look for all character with 55hp and then search where are there "frequent" spot map points.
Not discounting if Gaile or Alex goes hey ... this is too easy by seeing a post either.
The point is this method of community chat is a freedom of information the way it's set up.

You know the armour in Factions (15k) looks better than FoW imo, lol.
FoW is gonna make you look nothing special in Factions.
And not really, they can just check how many times a certain monster is called and see if it happens daily to see if there being farmed.

It's 46 now .
But seriously, people, chill. So what? Does it really matter? SOMEONE is going to tell people if they find a good farming spot. It's pretty much guaranteed. So allow me to invite you to do the following:
Take a deep breath.
Send me $1 in return for my psychological counseling.

You are true, so many logs, so little time... over a million people play GW; STOP right there! Think about it.... of those million+ people, they notice this one spot in the game getting played like no other spot by hundreds upon hundreds of people, THAT will definitely stick out from the other logs. It's like catching a glimpse of that little black ugly duckling within the group of little yellow ducklings in that cartoon! lol BUT NOT like looking for a needle in a haystack!
