We would be opening pandora's box.
Could you imagine all the PVP HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PVE threads.
My guild does both PvE and PvP (we're on of the few).
The point of GW is giving you a bunch of places to play and different types of combat. No just pve and pvp but what types of pve and pvp are in that. Restricting freedom would go against that comcept.

How does it appear to be PvP-centric in any way at all? A couple of new Guild Halls and Alliance Battles. Where PvE gets ~50 new missions, not to mention explorable areas.

I would see a million PVPers crying in one day lol.
Imagine the uproar.

???????? umm????? I PvE plenty(2accounts 6 characters) and I PvP plenty. I have not killed Glint..no need to except for a bonus I don't care about.
FoW...don't care
UW...don't care
Tombs...again don't care.
What was your point again?
I had thought that FoW, UW and TOMBS were added later to give serious PvE'rs something to do until the next chapter came out.

uh, no they wouldn't. they would clear all these areas in about 2 hours and go back to pvping.
how about flipping the table to force pvers to win HoH before they can go into FoW or UW.
now you would see a million people crying.

Dont know where you play PvP, but it aint the place where I play. Sit in RA for a half an hour and listen to the fallacies that get tossed around. These people have entirely NO idea how to play this game.
Maybe in the HoH most of the players have a good amount of PvE under their belts but not in the RA or TA have I ever seen anything to support this. I used to think the average player was pretty clueless, UNTIL I started playing PvP. The average PvE player knows a lot more about the game in my mind than the average PvP'r who sits in RA/TA all day saying lets dance, and calling people nubs(WTF is a nub, is that the leet spelling of noob?). Excellent analogy! Since I made UAS, I haven't looked back at PvE, and I don't look forward to it in Factions. It is hardly a test of skill, it's pretty repetitive (especially after 4 characters) -- in most places timing is relatively unimportant, target calling isn't needed, a logical skill bar isn't even that necessary. All you need is a basic Guild Wars understanding (basic tactics) obtained after roughly 30 hours to do well enough in PvE. From there the good and bad PvE players are seperated only by how much they've played.

Except that someone can't open the box and go play PvP right off the bat. Chances are they have to get through pretty much every class they want to play in PvE first. It's a little something called unlocks.

If you sit in any area you'll hear a lot of useless and dumb stuff people talk about anyways... (I.E Drok D1, Grotto, LA, heck anywhere where many people will gather your going to get stupid chats... don't just assume it's pvp)

I've seen all the PvPing PvEers are forced to do to get into FoW/UW. It consists of sitting on the Statue of Grenth and typing /dance, pressing Enter/Return, and watching the "X has won a battle in the Hall of Heroes." go scrolling by. Oh. And that two minute conflict between Pre and Post Sear... Even that, you can close your game as soon as you enter and when you login you will be at the part where you help Rurik. So you are forced to do absolutely no PvP for PvE.
So, why not UAX for PvP characters?
Hmm, you want PvPers to endure more grind... Nodice.

You can open the box and go play pvp right off the bat, or at least you could back in the day. It was entirely possible to get a full unlock just by faction grinding.

i laugh whenever i see a 55 monk in pvp areas. trust me, PvE and PvP is not something you can compare. like you don't compare apples and bananas
i've played both, and never have i cleared FoW, UW, or tombs. never. i've been there, for about 2 hours. and then i decided that was not ******* worth it. PvE is boring. fighting stupid AI is boring, now PvP on the other hand, you have to be prepared for anything, there is no set spawns, you never know what your enemy is doing (you can make a qualified guess, but you're never sure) and one thing real players do that monsters don't, adapt. and thats the main reason PvP and PvE is not comparible, PvE is the same over and over again, PvP is constantly changing

@ the OP
Horrible idea...
1. Many PvPers have already done all those, including myself.
2. There is no skill involved in doing this, all you need is time and at most 3 decent skills on every skillbar. The pre-made paladin that sits around in RA spamming "dance party on boat" could complete all of the following(save toumbs, that'd requrie a profession change).
3. You don't see serious PvPers sitting around towns and outposts complaining about never having favor while insulting whoever does have favor.
However, I have an idea that I'm sure all the PvErs who like this one will hate...
Let's make it mandatory that you have to win in the hall of heroes at least once to goto FoW/UW, and require all other upper levels of PvE to spend hundreds of hours in PvP to be truely competitive in PvE.
Wow, that was a horrible idea too, and I'm sure every PvEer would cry, as they'd never get to goto FoW/UW for a very, very long time, and even forced to play a part of the game they don't enjoy.
So how about we leave it how it is, perhaps even make it so PvPers don't have to grind as much in PvE, as right now it's only PvPers that are forced to spend hundreds of hours in PvE to be truely competitive.

What you suggest is technically "possible" yet about as practical as someone deciding to hop around on one foot their entire life. Back in the day, yeah. Now? Not a chance in hell.
