Few points to the people who posted here:

1) drops are not dieing. Go do a mission or a quest with people, come back and get your greens (it so annoys me that this still isnt common knowledge)

2) quests in SF are perfectly doable with henchmen, except maybe Orozar - but that you can always do with farming group.

3) FA quest is much better for farming than Orozar. It is faster, easier and you guaranteed to meet with Rago and Tanzit (+Malinon 50% of the time), who drop pretty sellable items.

I used to do a lot of SF farming, back when the items were worth something. Now, I solo farm. I don't waste my time with group farming anymore.
I think the point was a different mentality. You very obviously play the game to get as much gold, items, etc. for your character. Some people play it for the storyline and quests, to explore the game world, i.e. for entertainment, not a second job. And that to them is beneficial.

If cash-whoring is your thing, great. Its not the end-all and be-all of online gaming.

I've henched Orozar. I can't seem to hench Alkar though... can't get back to him fast enough to keep him alive.

It's pretty hard to hench Alkar, since the best way to do that is to have 1 group go get crystals and the other defend him.

I've tired of SF, since for me the bosses have gotten into a very bad habit of dropping 1 enslavement stone, 200gp and a scroll of adventurers insight, or even just plain gold.

I was able to do all the quest with henchies except FA and Alkar. I just can't seem to kill those binders quick enough with henchies and having to leave Alkar alone doesn't seem to work (and some say there is nothing wrong with henchies, everything can be done with them). The worst part is when I go with a group of people when it comes to the flame djinn some rush in recklessly then call everyone else who didn't noobs or whatever after they died. Wait who is the noob?

Alkar is pretty easy with henchies once you figure out enemy waves pattern. It goes like this:

First wave spawns right when you engage group with dredge who holds balthazate crystal. So just aggro them and run straight back. You'll get there just in time to see first wave chargind down on Alkar.

Second wave spawns right after crystal drops from dredge. So If you killed him first, dont fight the rest - grab crystal and run. Crystal will slow you down a bit, but Alkar can survive one wave for some time alone just fine. He will only die if you've failed to kill first wave, because two groups will own him.

Enjoy.
