B/P groups getting as bad as IWAY groups now
Not the thing you think, but rather the amount of "newbies" and noobs joining.
Not bashing the build ( i love bp'ing), or the people, but its funny.
Heres a MM that joined the team yesterday:
N/mo,
Used Bone Fiend and bone MINIONS, heal area and Blood of master and Vat. Sac.
Ok. Not the problem yet (except Bone MINIONS suckand die in 1 hit).
Firstly this guy raises a minion about every 2 minutes only for some reason. His fiends were only LEVEL 14, He had like 0 in soul reaping (because he pinged he was out of energy every 20 sec), and he thoguht he was a tank - cause he stayed in front of the rangers for some reason lol.
We asked him about what his soul reaping lvl was, and why his fiends were lvl14, and stuff, he just Ragequits without saying anything.
Then you have B/p rangers that forget to bring pets....duh....
Then you have "tag alongs" that just stay there doing nothing, then on Scarred earth open the phantom chests and leave, or jsut return to being idle til the darknesses.
>_>
The amount of noobs is rather high, making me stay to guild groups.

Not all groups are as bad as that, but with any popular place or build, "noobs" are bound to flood the place. But I do agree with you, the only time I'll go to Tombs is with my guild.

Barrager/Pet rangers without Barrage or a Pet are particularly annoying.

I fully agree with the OP. Why is it getting so hard to get into a decent bp group these days? Its not like this is a hard build to run or anything. Actually, when everyone does their part, its extremely easy.
But then again, I guess the problem is eveyone doing their part. I'm talking to you, noobs who pretend to know whats going (serisouly, just ask, someone will tell you what to do)/necros that can't figure out how to put up a good meat wall/guys who go afk until a chest comes around.
I've become so disgusted with b/p PUGs I've just about given up on it alltogether.

I gave up on it when the greens started to become non-rare, the drops are so piffling nowadays. A good FoW solo run can earn 3x more in half the time.

I am always happy to explain to people - if they want to hear it.
B/P is pretty easy because other than Barrage, Charm and comfort animal (and possible a spirit if you are the one tasked with that) the rest of the bar can be your normal stuff - troll U, some interupts what ever you normal run around with.
I also am fine with telling a Necro what works for the MM builds - if they want to hear it. I'm ok if someone wants to learn. Those that act like jerks or rage quit when you ask questions - well better off without them cause you werent going to get far anyway.

well yes there are alot of noobs, but explain it to them what they need to do, or what ppl expect from them. 50% of the time they will try to adapt.
the other 50% will just start yelling they pwn because they are lvl 20

The biggest problem I have noticed lately are the idlers. I joined one group where 2 of the rangers turned out to be idling. We decided to return to tombs and regroup, and one of the new rangers we picked up ended up idling. We managed to get to HoH with only 4 rangers, and made sure the idler died at the beginning, so as to not get any greens.

Well - I have had some bad groups, but more good than bad. I don't even do it that often, but it is a pretty fun run if everything goes well. Going as both an MM and a B/P I know it pretty well now. But yes - first timers should let people know, and leechers just make me sick...

I went back to Tombs yesterday because it had been a while and thought I would make some quick cash.
First group, everyone died on the 1st level except me, then I suicided because it was a useless effort.
Second group, I was the last to join and assumed (mistake) that spirits had been discussed. We go in and I say "spirits?" while they're all standing with their thumbs up their butts. Well, no one had them so we all suicide. I decide to take a break at that point.
Third group, the Orders Necro quits 1st time he dies, which was within 30 seconds on entering. We decide to go on. One Ranger decides he's a tank and quickly gets a 60% DP so he's pretty much useless at that point except as fodder for the MM. He eventually quit after getting an ecto drop (errrrr). To sum up, we finished with 3 Rangers, a MM and Monk. I got three useless greens that I'll probably give away to newbs.
Going back to Tombs again soon? Not likely.
Edit: Love the avatar Madman. LOL...

B/P rangers w/o pets are annoying. So are rangers that try to heal the pet. (Same goes for monks.) As a MM I want those pets dead just long enough so that I can get the corpse. 55hp Orders iNecros are annoying too. I've only seen one do a good job. The rest get too close and get smacked by a popup or shattered to death.
Actually the worst are the griefer rangers. We had one in a group that liked to drop EoE. Everybody kept saying don't do that, it hurts the minions/fiends. Well, about 10 minutes into the match this guy drops EoE while we were fighting 8-10 popups and about 5 of those memser darkness guys. A few minions/fiends die and EoE triggers. Poof! No meat shields anymore. Everyone but me wipes (since I'm running backward as I see the EoE trigger). Then the EoE ranger quits.
Nice thing was that I had Rebirth and we managed to finish w/o that one EoE idiot.
/rant
I think everyone has a first time and I'm sympathetic to that. If a person states up front that they are new then I'll happily go over the basics with them. With even a half-decent b/p group a single newbie isn't going to make much difference. (Yes, there are exceptions to this.)

Yesterday when I saw a bit of everything everyone here's talking about. I had to laugh when I was asked if I had my pet with me in one group. After seeing comments in the all chat that people weren't taking pets I was glad they did!
When Tombs got changed, it was standard practice to do skills checks on every party member before starting the mission. Guess that'll be happening more now.
Monks, please leave your enchantments at home. They hurt much more than they help. Rangers, don't set your spirits up right in the middle of the battlefield; they're there to help increase your DPS, not as something to hide behind (Although it's OK if you're team's in deep doo-doo and you need to scrape a grasp off you and there are no minions left to use.) Freeloaders - If I catch you in my party, I'll be sure that you die. OHH!! Monks - go ahead and bring an enchantment or two, use them on the freeloaders!

one of my guild members is always going into the tombs with B/P groups. One time he forgot to bring his comfort animal and everyone kept pinging that his pet was dead, so he changed his pets name to stupidowner. It was great the rangers weren't impressed mind you but i got a good laugh at him

I started out b/p as a R/Me ,that is untill I went in with a Monk without Rebirth/rez.Just me and him left standing,I felt horrible that I couldn't do anything. What a noob.Immediatly changed to R/Mo and equipped rebirth.
Also the best thing about Tombs is you know almost right away if the group is full of noobs, everyone but you dies.Or they have no clue about enemy spawns/pop ups.
I dont think you need 5 b/p Rangers.I think 1 Ranger with distracting shot, Leech sig, Poison arrow + epidemic and a couple traps works out good too.

yes and no,
the second map, when you got those dryders on both sides, if you got bad luck and they cast meteor showers all together, sometimes you can get killed pretty fast with just monk and orders standing alife. (sometimes)
But I agree, most of the time you know after first map if you'r dealing with not so experienced players.

Um, I rather have a MM bring fiends and minions, fiends for back damage, minions for up close meat shields and double the soul reaping gain.
For all others things said, my only purpose for doing the runs was the salvage drops and for a chance for a bulwark, gave up and bought my own and never went back to that place.

I've noticed that the quality has dropped severely. I tried 3 runs the other night and all 3 never made it past the second level -- hell, on the last group it took over an hour just to come close to finishing the 2nd level!! I knew we were in trouble when out of the blue someone says "Bush sucks"....from then on it was a nightmare.
