Pre-order key Query
I posted on another thread earlier about the Pre-order key's and although a few answers were forthcoming I am not sure I fully understand (Probably just me!) but I would like the issue clarifying and if others are thinking the same it deserves its own thread.
To the point, I received my Pre-order box today from Game.net, and it comes with a sealed Product key which can be used for early access and special ingame items. Easy right!
When I get my full version box, that will have another key. Will the pre-order key be time limited, or restricted to the first 24 hours or is it a full key? How/when will I have to input the full key if the pre-order is time limited?
In addition, but due to house move I wil not be online for a week or so which corresponds with the launch and early access. If the Pre-order key is time limited will I still be able to use it to access my free items after the launch of the game?
I hope I am just being stupid, but seeing as I have not confronted this issue before it doesn't entirely make sense to me. So many keys, but how many locks?

Adding the key to your account gives every new caracter with new primaries (Rit and As) the new item when you create them (customised I guess). That works as soon as you enter the key and will last forever. Those who had the preorder key before the FPE could get the Preorder Items in the FPE.
Adding the Preorder key to your account will grant your account access to Factions (the full deal) for 24 hours before the full release (so April 27th 12:01), without new caracter slots though. That access to Factions will be removed from accounts with only preorder key 24 or 48 hours after the release of Factions (not sure on this), so either on April 29th 11:59pm or April 30th 11:59pm. Then your accounts has no longer access to Factions.
In order to re-unlock Factions after the Headstart, you'll need to get a copy of the retail Factions (in stores 28th) and add it to your account.
At least thats how I understand it, hope this helps

48 hours
24 hours early and 24 hours grace period to enter retail key (27 to end of 28)

Thanks that sort makes sense now. Only issue not answered is that I wont be able to start the game 27th for a week or so (house move) so will I miss out on the preorder in game items? (I did not plan my house move well!)

your preorder items are yours permanently.

/preorder ONLY works in towns, not outside into zones.

One more thing: Preorder items are neither bound to new characters nor to the new professions. You can also get them with "/preorder" on already existing characters. Which, of course, would be mostly pointless, as they won't be able to use them properly due to not meeting the requirements.

Unless of course, you are only interested in the +15 energy bonus of the Insightful Spiritbinder. (Trapper anyone? )
