Made 2 runs. First one got nothing second one 3 dropped...2 for me.

Also 5-man runs are the way to go..quick and efficient.

I made two run last night. First with a monk, SS and me (tank) and we didn't made far into the cave. Second try, we took 5 men group and went all the way into the cave and kill off all those imps. And one of the sword dropped for me!

Can't wait to do it tonight!

Got one on my second run - did three in total and that was the only one I saw drop. You certainly never need full groups. But two warriors two monks and a minion master are a good core - plus one ele for good luck.

Yes, the ids can be modded, but with certain mods only. The icy hilt cannot be modded, but I put a +7vs physical on it, and it was accepted.

To people that want to buy a sword like this:

Make sure to DOUBLE CHECK you're getting what you paid for. People are now dyeing a Fiery Dragon sword blue and trying to pass it off as a IDS (the icons look the same).
I had two people try this one me, one wouldn't show me the sword until I put up the money first. It was a Fiery Sword,
The other put up a legit one, then cancelled and claimed I submitted gold instead of plat(which I didn't), but then she opened trade again and attempted to switch sword to a blue Fiery Sword.

Just a warning...

Just tested. You can dyethe sword blue, it only changes the hilt color, but as was said, it changes the icon color. Looks the same.

No, that collector doesnt have this sword, its imps only.

Also, After 11 tries with a party I finaly find one of those swords, So I sell it for 60k.... Buy a new one for 35k... Sell that one for 55k....

Forgot to mention this yesterday with my post but after the xmas update, is it just me or did ANET decide to change things a bit due to all the attention that imp ice cave has been getting as of late. Before the update I went with a barrage/monk team and the majority of the imps were inside the cave around the lyssa statue. After the update, I ran it with henches and found the majority (and by majority I mean ALL) of the imps + 1 ice golem + 1 troll sitting at the entrance to the cave. Didn't make another run to confirm if this was permanant but I wonder if anet did that to keep people from talking to lyssa to get a stat boost while beating on the imps

ice imps dont always spawn in the same spot
sometimes one group spawns outside or theres 2 next to statue of lyssa

no u dont need favor for it to drop. and dont buy one it seems to be dropping very easy if u can make it there with a competent group.

Just hurry if u want to get one as its being more overfarmed than the SF-greens blowout

the price is changing like crazy u can getem from 20k and up. I figure i'll hold onto one, cause Anet will get rid of it soon since ppl r scamming it too much combined with the extra farming.

Has anyone been able to solo imp cave now? After the update the two Avicara groups spawn much closer to the imp cave opening.

Yes the near Avcara groups are really boring but can be pass (except if mix imediatly with Imp, slow frost+ Avicara= dead :/ )
10 solo run done, no Icy, they'd really decrease drops :'( or it's just i've bad luck...

I got 3 IDS drops on my first run. I was one of the guys that lost two SOA axes the day before. I turned around and sold the swords for just over 100k combined. Not sure how closely linke the two events are.
