I dunno, I think it's nice that Anet is thinking about it, but in my mind it's still really each person's responsibility.
I fully understand that it's easy to lose track of time in games like this (god do I ever), but I also have a very simple rule that thwarts that to some extent: if something important is coming up (like, say work...) no Guild Wars. Sometimes I have an itching to hop on for "just a few minutes to check out that cool gold drop I got last night right before I had to log out", but I refuse to do it because I know it will then be "oh, well, just a minute or two to try and sell it" or, "oh, I'll just run out to Talus quick" or something else, and next thing you know I'll be 20 minutes late for work.
So, yea, it's nice that Anet is "concerned", but still....

Hah, I remember that.

I like it, because sometimes I play a 'quick half an hour of GW before bed', and next thing I know it's time to get up.
True story.

You could play while using an excersize bike! That negates the blood clots issue. Dunno about eye problems though? Seriously though is anyone gonna really notice it? You could be out on your 4000th troll farming run of the day picking up drops it'd fly by in an instant. Or if your in a town with all the spammers again youll be lucky to catch it! I set a competition of endurance though. 1st person to play solidly for a week wins a prize!! Screen shots required of course

In fairness its not really like that in Guildwars.
It takes much longer than 5 minutes to do most things, so before attempting something else you have to be sure you have the time to complete it, otherwise its unfair on your team mates!
It just doesnt have the addictive element that real MMO's have.
The only thing which took me over 6 hours to do on GW was the beacons pirch to droknars!

Quick troll farm-runs to grind for XP and skill points. ~5-10 minutes per run. For some of us that are grinding away...yeah, it sorta does have that addictive element =\
I need to stop replying to posts and sleeeeep.

Now if they'd just add a /time command I'd really be happy
Tired of having to minimize to figure out what time it is

It does sound like a way of saying 'hey we put a warning in' if anyone (god forbid) died/allowed a child to die because of playing guildwars so as to prevent people being able to file law suits or restrictions being placed on the game in asian countries.

I'v noticed several people asking for a clock function to be added, why? Have you never heard of a non computerized clock. Say a watch, wall clock or even a digital alarm clock. Go buy one from Wally world for less than $10. Why do you need to have the dev's waste there time adding silly stuff thats not needed.

Yeah I mean, sometimes I go on just to do a Troll run or two, and then my Guild leader who NEVER SLEEPS will ask me to go to FoW or UW and I'll do it, because it'll only take two hours or so and two hours is fine because I'll still get enough sleep and then we'll finish FoW or UW and I'll sell my junk and think to myself, 'Another Troll run won't hurt' so I do that and then somebody else comes on and is like 'Jason, want to two-man UW for a bit?' and I'll be like 'Sure...'
