Unlocking all skills: a new challenge!
Unlocking all skills for playing pvp is no challenge anymore. Let's say you play pvp only and want want to unlock 6x75 skills = 450 skills = 450k factions (actually a little bit more, since some skills are already available and elite skills cost 3k factions to unlock). This took me like one month playing guild wars.
But how about unlocking all the skills by a single PvE character, with all secondary profession skills unlocked. So let's say you are a primary mesmer who want to unlock all mesmer skills and all other skills from the other 5 secondary professions (in this case: monk, necromancer, elementalist, ranger and warrior).
My suggestion would be:
- Doing all missions (to get skillpoints)
- Doing all quests that gives you skills as a reward (only for your primary and one secondary profession, as you cannot do the same quests more than once to get the skills)
- Doing the high XP reward quests (Glint's quest = 20k, fast Ascension = 50k bonus, etc)
- Doing quest in UW and FoW (limited since your region does not always have the favor and you need to play 1k for entrance)
Let's say you wanted unlock all the 450 skills (actually less, since some skills are only available for primary professions only) and 1 skillpoint = 20k XP.
Then you will need 450 x 20k = 90 million XP to unlock all skills.
In my opinion: 90 million XP is impossible to reach! My character has only 1.4 Million XP and the highest XP player I know in GW has 27 Million XP.
My challenge is as follows > How can you get 90 Million asap? Please, give me suggestion!
A greater challenge would be when the GW: Factions comes out and you wanted to unlock the skills for A and Rt as a secondary profession too!

I think it cost a littel less (unlocking the skills) then that, you get new quests with each new 2nd pro you get so the most of it you get from the quests.
Getting 90 mil xp hmmm thats is imposible IMO, maybe If you dont have a life or you are a bot (lmao), but let me know if you find out how

I've unlocked all of the Mesmer, Monk and Warrior, Two of which I unlocked on my one Warrior/Monk, all of which through PvE,Also I'm about to unlock the last few elites for Necromancer, which is on my PvE Mesmer/Necromancer.
I plan on unlocking all of the ranger skills in pve as well, except for elementalist..I plan on unlocking his skills through pvp, since I want to keep my R/E a pure beastmaster.
All in all, I plan on unlocking all skills before Factions(I hope anyway).

You don't need 90 million exp to unlock all skills on a PvE character, more like 5 million which is about 350 skill points.
Many people have already unlocked all skills on a single PvE character.

A few notes to the OP:
1. At level 20, you get skill points every 15k now as opposed to 20k. This was changed a while ago (which itself was even changed from before, when you had to get an increasing number of xp each time you got another skill point. At any rate, using your calculations at 20k it's only 9 million xp to get 450 skill points, not 90 million.)
2. You can get the skills of a secondary in that primary attribute; for example, an R/W can get Strength-based skills. They won't be very effective though.
3. When you switch secondaries, you can do the profession-specific quests back in Ascalon and Yak's Bend. You can get an additional 12-13 skills for each secondary this way.
4. Switching secondaries itself unlocks a few starter skills; I don't remember which exact ones you unlock.
5. You get one skill point from the Pre-Searing quest Tithe for Ashford Abbey, 1 skill point for each level up, and 1 skill point for each of the 24 PvE missions. That's 44 free skill points.
After all that, you should have around 280 skill points you have to earn. That's 4.2 million exp, or 4,340,600 experience including the experience it takes to get to level 20.

I can't believe it took that many people too notice this glaring error in math.

Actually, the name Racthoh is an anagram for hardcore:
Hartcoh (shame spelling isn't Racthoh's greatest asset)

For some people, unlocking all skills (not on their PvE character) is a challange. Just for me. I have played GW for over 1000 hours and still have like 200 skills to unlock. I'm trying to unlock a skill once a day now.

450 * 20.000 = 9M not 90M
period
BTW to get 1 skill point you need 15.000xp not 20.000

2 Dont mather if the skills will be less effective... are mine and i want it...
3 tip: some npcs give the skills when you take the quest (like Grand Mason Stonecleaver) take the quest, abandon the quest and the skills will remain, change secondary and return you will take another free skill... repeat for all classes...

Do #2 especially. I find that saves a lot of the required XP. And I've unlocked all N, Me & Mo skills so far (& over 3/4 of Ele before the nerf made me decide to delete her.)
